News Drop Ep. 52: Ariana Grande, Black Panther, Netflix TUDUM, Harry Potter & More

DeAndre Hoover Season 5 Episode 11

The entertainment landscape shifts dramatically in this packed news episode covering some surprising wins, disappointing losses, and unexpected announcements across film, television, and gaming.

Disney's live-action Lilo & Stitch continues its box office dominance, approaching the billion-dollar threshold globally while Sony's Karate Kid: Legends stumbles despite reuniting Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan. The stark contrast between these nostalgic properties raises fascinating questions about what resonates with modern audiences and why certain franchises maintain cultural relevance while others fade. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande expands her cinematic presence by joining the upcoming Meet the Parents sequel alongside returning stars Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller.

On the gaming front, CD Projekt Red surprises us with news that Cyberpunk 2 has moved into pre-production with nearly 100 developers already working on the sequel—much earlier than I expected considering the studio's primary focus on The Witcher 4. This announcement comes alongside the disappointing revelation that EA has canceled its promising Black Panther game, which would have featured multiple playable characters including T'Challa, Killmonger, and Shuri in an adventure involving Skrull infiltration and a nemesis-style relationship system. Gaming fans can look forward to IO Interactive's upcoming 007 First Light, which promises an original James Bond adventure separate from previous films.

Television updates spotlight Netflix's TUDUM event, which revealed Stranger Things' three-part final season release schedule, a first look at Wednesday Season 2 featuring Lady Gaga, and a tantalizing teaser for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein adaptation starring Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth and Jacob Elordi. HBO's ambitious Harry Potter series has found its leading trio and assembled an impressive supporting cast including John Lithgow as Dumbledore and Nick Frost as Hagrid, signaling the network's commitment to bringing a fresh take on the beloved series to a new generation.

Speaker 1:

hello, all you awesome people out there. Welcome and welcome back to geek vids entertainment, the place dedicated to film, video games, games and television, specifically the more nerdy side of the three. I'm your host, as always, hoover, and we are back with a brand new episode of News Drop. I think this is episode 53? Tree 53? I think that's where we at I could be wrong, I don't know, I don't know. Yeah, so we got another episode bringing you some news, uh from our, uh, from our big three, uh, mostly coming early the end of may, as we begin a new month. I hope everybody enjoyed their memorial day weekend. Um, it's been a little bit, not too long, but uh, it's been quite a bit since our last news drop and, honestly, uh, with the holiday, it's been a pretty. It's been. It's been a kind of a slow uh news cycle here, so we got a couple of stories not too many, so this one might be a bit of a breezy episode here. We got a lot of trailers to talk about, though, so we're gonna get to quite a bit of trailers, uh, but for this episode of news drop we're going to be covering, we got, of course, we gotta talk about our opening weekend for film. Another weekend wrapped up, so let's talk about what made money, what didn't, what disappointed and what passed expectations. We also got a casting update on a brand new Meet the Fockers. We got possibly our first casting for the Elden Ring movie and we got some big news from Disney for both TV and film, but we'll cover it in our film portion because you know why.

Speaker 1:

Not All right for TV. Tootum, remember, tootum, that I screwed up on the news drop a little while ago? Yeah, that happened on the 31st. So we got a first look at a bunch of brand new shows. Netflix is going to be coming out this year, so we'll talk about them there, but of course, we're going to watch the trailers in the trailer section, so we'll have that there.

Speaker 1:

Uh, we got a casting update, um, for a new drama over at Apple TV plus. Uh, this was a little older, but I wanted to throw it in there because we've been keeping up with it for quite a while. Um, we have our three leads for the harry potter tv show reboot over on hbo max, so we'll be talking about the cassie for that. Uh, we also got some renewal. Like I said, tv is a little bit slow today and I'm also just noticing my sheet is in the. I read that in the wrong order, uh, but anywho.

Speaker 1:

After that, though, uh, video games, which should be second, but I read it the wrong way uh, we got a new update for cyberpunk 2077, on the cyberpunk sequel, um, something I missed before, but we're going to expand upon a little bit here. Some news on the black panther game that was recently canceled. Uh, we got a first look at a brand new 007 game, and Tango Gamesworks has come back out, and they're going to be talking about, uh, what they have for the future. So, and then, of course, like I said, we're going to end it off with some trailers. We got quite a bit of trailers, mostly all of the Netflix stuff from the uh, from the Tudum, so we'll be talking about all that here in this edition of the news drop.

Speaker 1:

Of course, before I do it, I will ask you if you can leave your boy a rating or a in a comment over on the audio realm. Uh, of course, on the youtube channel, leave a comment if anything here uh piques your interest. Make sure to check out the rest of the channel. I got a bunch of other stuff on my channel as well. So feel free to check it out and, if you like what I'm doing over here, maybe you know, give you, give your boy, boy, subscribe, you know, you know, so we can see what's up. Get in on the ground floor. You know this is a very small channel uh, very small channel, but I got quite a quite a bit of content. So feel free to check all that good stuff out. But anyway, that is it for the yapping. Let's just get right into this news, shall we all right? Let's go all right.

Speaker 1:

So we got karate kid legends uh gets kicked around by lilo stitch and mission impossible law. Uh debuted with a soft 21 million dollars at the box office, so not a good start for this brand new rebooted karate kid. Disney's blockbuster lilo stitch earned a huge 63 million in its second weekend, for a jaw-dropping global haul of 610 million, and the newest mission impossible movie continues to impress all right. While this fate is against seal, karate kill legends opened behind expectations at the domestic box office. Despite teaming up original star ralph macchio and the beloved action legend jackie chan, who starred in the 2010 uh redux, sony is estimating a third place in a opening of 21 million from about uh 3 000 plus theaters for the male fuel film rival studios show it's coming closer to 20 20 million as opposed to 21, heading to the weekend tracking for the pic debut to 25 million. Three weeks ago that number was far more promising 35 million. That's quite a drop. Overseas, where it began to roll out early ledges took in another 12 million for early foreign, foreign foreign talacy of 20 talent wow tally of 26 million and 47 million globally, though it has only opened in 40 of the marketplace.

Speaker 1:

Uh, but regardless of the opening, so it remains confident that the pg-13 film will sport strong chops thanks to a strong uh. It has an a minus from cinema score, so it has a very strong uh audience score and solid and solid exits. What the hell does that mean? I guess that means it's like people been saying saying good things as they leave the theater from seeing it, and internet production budget was a minus 45 million before marketing, so it's also not that expensive of a movie, so it it doesn't need too much to make money and they think, with the fact that it's been, it's gotten a pretty good audience score might give it some legs uh. Critics, though, are far more divided than audiences when it comes to the movie, uh, ben wang's character is mentored by both characters played by machio, of course, using the original movie, and, and cobra kai and, of course, jackie chan, who previously stated was in the 2010. Uh, box office pundits are speculating that franchise fans may have been sated by cobra kai, at least for the time being.

Speaker 1:

The series is viewed as a sequel to the first three films. The threequel was released in 89. They added the minute. They add that middle reviews for legends certainly aren't helping. So audience scores giving up a pretty high score, but the critics score, uh, not so much.

Speaker 1:

Um, which does seem to be a thing as of late, uh, I think of things like um, captain america, brave new world, had a better audience score than it had a critic score. Uh, there was something else that came out very recently that had the same thing, but I'm blanking on what the hell it was. It wasn't, it wasn't, it wasn't thunderbolts, what the hell? I can't remember what it was. But something else recently came out. It had a pretty average audience score, but it had a high. Oh, I'm thinking of um minecraft. Minecraft was the same way. It had a pretty low critic score but had a very high audience score, uh, but of course, that was based off a more popular property. I also think maybe the property is a thing as well karate kid is is. I feel like karate kid is definitely a thing for its time.

Speaker 1:

It was a classic 80s movies, a classic 80s movie, but I don't know if, um, I don't know how it fits within the zeitgeist of everything now. Um, of course you know you got to think of things like and then of course, you have the divide. I know the clear argument, the counter argument to that is cobra kai, which has been beloved by audience and critics alike and probably bought in a bunch of new fans as well. But then you got to also remember that this is not cobra kai. Cobra kai probably brought in a bunch of new fans as well, but then you got to also remember that this is not Cobra Kai. Cobra Kai probably brought in a lot of new fans who still, probably to this day, haven't even thought of giving the original Karate Kid much of a chance.

Speaker 1:

And while, yeah, they got Jackie Chan from the 2010 ones, I don't think the 2010s one did well either. So you know, like I said, I've seen it, I've seen the dreds. I thought it was cool, but again it wasn't something I was interested in going out to the theaters to go see. So, yeah, I don't know, I feel like it's just. I feel like it's just a, it's a, it's a film franchise that maybe doesn't have the beloved uh, uh, a title like yo like, because, uh, what's about call it was the same way too. Um, ghostbusters like ghostbusters. Afterlife did pretty damn fine, but then frozen empire came out and that didn't do so very well. And then of course you have the, the reboot before that one, that that was the all female-led one, but that's a whole other can of worms that we we didn't really open up on that one.

Speaker 1:

Even things like star wars, um, the recent, the recent trilogy the first one came out, did blockbuster numbers, and then the second one came out and it didn't do so well. And then the third one came out and did worse. So you know, maybe these nostalgia movies kind of, you know, maybe all people are just also kind of tired, tired out, which is an argument I have been seeing a lot lately. People just might be tired of these little remakes and sequels and and things of that nature and people just ready to move on. And you know, of course, like I say, the biggest, the biggest counter, the biggest supporting argument for that is, of course, sinners, which is doing extremely well.

Speaker 1:

Uh, what's that horror movie? I actually haven't looked at what the numbers for that? Well, let's see if it's down here before I look. Bring her back. Is that even actually? Is that even out? Is that out? Uh, yeah, yeah, it just came out, so it's probably gonna be talking about this one, because it came out like literally that same weekend, so they might talk about that too. But I've been hearing good things about this, well, and it's an original horror movie, so we'll see. But anywho, let's jump back, let's see they might talk about it down here somewhere, all right.

Speaker 1:

And then there's the lone stitch and mission impossible, which is a whole another thing too, uh, which is funny, because I'm just talking about how people are kind of tired of franchises and sequels and remakes and but this is, this is, I mean, it's, it's a weird thing, it's a weird argument, but it's kind of the whole thing. People say they tired of it, but the two highest grossing movies over the weekend actually the three, because that technically is one too the three highest grossing movies are, uh, you know, it's a remake and a sequel to a long uh running franchise. All right, and then there's a little stitch in mission impossible factor. Both movies continue to do strong business in their second outings. After fueling a record memorial day weekend, which is crazy too it's their second weekend and it still can't even crack the. It still can't even beat the two of them. Mellow stitch shattered numerous records. It is likely to become the first hollywood movie of 2025 to join the billion dollar box office club.

Speaker 1:

Uh continues to see all expectations remained number one this weekend, domestically and overseas. It zoomed past the $610 million mark after grossing another $63 million domestically from 4,000 theaters and $113 million overseas. Lilo Stitch, in its second weekend, made two times as much as the Karate Kid movie made in its opening weekend. That's kind of crazy, damn. I think it's more than double. It was more than double. It was about three times as much. That's crazy, uh. In less than two weeks, the pic has already become the top grossing hollywood release of 2035, behind minecraft, ditto for north America, where it's now passed up Cougar's Sinners, which stands at $350 million.

Speaker 1:

The live-action update of the 2002 animated film also played a key role in helping Disney become the first Hollywood studio of 2025 to cross the $2 billion mark in worldwide ticket sales and across $1 billion domestically. Paramount Skydance's mission impossible. Final reckoning uh remains scrum in second place with an estimated sophomore outing of 27.2 million. There's also that's crazy, this also this actually made just slightly more, slightly more, actually just a slightly more. So you know, excuse that, excuse the math 10-day north american tally of 122 million. Uh, it's benefiting greatly from its exclusive imax run.

Speaker 1:

I didn't even know that overseas, the christopher mccleary director picked earned another 75, I mean 76.1 million for an international queue of 231 million million and $353 million globally. It's always done big business in China and it's no exception. Even if the returns from the box office are far less than what they used to be, it's still doing numbers over in China. Debuted there Friday with a $25.2 million opening, scored the top opening day of the year among Hollywood titles. Man, that's crazy, all right, and it's third outing. Warner New Line's Final Destination Bloodlines came in fourth 10 million. Uh, it's North America total is 111.7 and 229 million worldwide. Uh, karate Kid wasn't the only new nationwide offering Danny and Michael for the pilot to spit. Okay, here we go.

Speaker 1:

Whore Pig, bring Her Back from A24 starring Sally Hawkins, round off the top five with an estimated seven million from 2,000 theaters. The critically acclaimed film was graced with a B-plus cinema score from audiences, which is like an A when it comes to the horror genre. Overseas, where Sony is assisting in the release, earned a million from the first eight markets. So, yeah, again, that's pretty. That's pretty damn good for a horror movie. Uh, at the specialty box office, west sanderson's the finokian scheme, which I'm excited about, I actually checked that out. Um, it scored about 95 000 following this world premiere at the canes film festival.

Speaker 1:

Focus pitches an indian paintbrush partner on the film. Uh, early international total 6 million and 6.8 million globally. Uh, it hasn't released in the states yet and it's a very limited run so far getting its indie run out first. So we'll have to see, uh, what the future for karate kid has. We have to see if it has any legs. It's going up against some tough competition. Lilo and Stitch, mission Impossible still making bank. Um, you know, we'll have to see if Bring Her Back can outpace it in terms of, like, word of mouth and some legs. But I think we'll have to see. We'll have to see where it is. I will admit I'm actually shocked. Lilo and Stitch has made that much, which is crazy when you think about it.

Speaker 1:

It's just a live-action redo of a movie that already exists. You can just sit at home and watch the original animated movie on Disney+, which I don't get. But hey, to each their own. You think the kid factor plays a big role in stuff like that. Like they see the trailers and they excited to go see it, and then the parent be like oh, we don't need to go to the theaters and watch little one stitch, you can watch it right here. And they turn on the anime to move in. The kids like what the like? No, I don't want to see this. Stitch is stitch is real. I want to see the real stitch. Like what you're talking about. This is the real stitch. Like, no, it's a cartoon, I want to see the real version, the original version. Like, oh my god, this kid is lost in the sauce. But anyway, that's our opening weekend before last weekend, so we'll, of of course, see what things are looking like next weekend as well.

Speaker 1:

All right, next up we have Ariana Grande joins Meet the Parents sequel at Universal for a fall 2026 release date set. I didn't even know this was happening. I've never seen any of the Meet the Parents or what's the other one called Meet the Fockers. Ain't that part of it too? Yeah, anyway, but following the success of wicked part run, ariana grande universal, I found the next project to team on. Uh, it's another huge ip for the studios, or still deadline, that the oscar nominee and graham were set to join the cast of the next installment in the meet the parents. Franchises, franchises, franchise, uh, and that's coming out on november 25th 2026.

Speaker 1:

John hamburg is directing with the original cast including robert de niro, ben stiller, terry polo and blythe danner returning to star hamburg. Hamburg also co-wrote the script and the three previous beat the pants movies and is also pinning this one. Uh, plot details are being kept inside the circle of trust. That details behind who grande will play. Uh, jane rosenthal and de niro will produce through their tribeca productions. Jay roach will produce through delirious media. Stiller and john lynch were produced through red hour films. Hamburg were produced through two particular studios, so we got three fucking production houses producing this movie. That's kind of crazy, see. So it seems like it's really just like uh, they well, who's jay roach? I'm guessing this is like the regular, like the, the main producer producing through this. But then you got stiller. He's like, oh yeah, I'll put some money in there too with my production company, and denaro's like, yeah, I'll do something too with his production company. So, yeah, so, uh, yeah, no, not, not too much news on this one just yet.

Speaker 1:

But meet the parents grossed more than 330 million at the global box office when it released in 2000, becoming that year's seventh highest grossing films. Uh, it sequels with the foggers in 04 and little foggers in 2010. Thank goodness I'm not making no money because I might get demonetized for this. Uh, we're also box office success in all the franchises 1.13 billion worldwide. I did not know these movies were that fucking successful. I mean, I should say I didn't know these movies were that fucking successful. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I didn't know these movies made that kind of money. Uh, matt Riley, director of production.

Speaker 1:

Jacqueline Gere works for the project studio. Following her scene-stealing performance as Glinda in Wicked Grande, has had her fair share of scripts come her way. Her strong ties to the studio led her back to the lot on a project Universal is excited about and they're just talking about how good we could do it. Um, then we got wicked for good, it's coming this year november 21st. So, all right, grande, uh, expanding her, her body of work on the big screen because this is wicked was like her first, if not at all her first one. Right, clearly I know she has the tv stuff. Like, clearly I know she has the tv stuff.

Speaker 1:

When she was a, she was a nickelodeon kid back in the day. Uh, then she did the music stuff, but I think this is like her first doing like the big movie stuff. Right, yeah, pretty much. Oh, she said don't look up, I don't know that. What a TV movie. Yeah, so she's done like some very small things, but yeah, wicked was like the biggest, the biggest blockbuster movie she's done so far. So, yeah, that's what I kind of thought. So, yeah, so ariana grande is joining meet the parents.

Speaker 1:

So who should be playing what role is she's going to be in the movie will have to remain to be seen. If I had to take a guess, like I said, I've seen any of these movies, so I don't know how the last one left off. If I had to guess, though, I would guess she might be playing maybe, uh, maybe a daughter to some of the characters. Again, like I said, I don't know how the movies went. I'm just throwing a guess out there, but that would that would be. That would be my, my kind of guess. Again, I don't even know what these movies typically are about, which is crazy. Okay, wow, that threw me off to the been going since 2000. Last one was in 2010. No, first made a billion dollars. That's crazy. All right.

Speaker 1:

Next up well, you got some news on the elden ring movie. Uh, I think this was another one I missed. Uh, yeah, it was kind of crazy. I did the last news drop, right, I did the last news drop and, like, I got the news stories I was doing, I recorded it, I edited it, spent like literally all day editing this shit because I was having some issues finally got it, got to upload it, put it up the next day and, literally, like I feel like the next day when I uploaded that shit, just all this other news started coming in. So we had an Eldering movie. Uh, that's supposed to be coming.

Speaker 1:

Alice Garland is set to direct. He's the uh. So it's coming from A24, which is kind of crazy because, as we all know, our one of our catchphrases on this channel is A24 does good shit, good shit, uh, so kind of surprising. They've taken on a video game movie adaption, as garland's doing it. He just did the warframe movie for a24. Uh, so now we have that. Kit connor may reunite with uh warfare director x garland on an elven ring movie and of course, the the only writer for Empire Magazine's website, written by Jordan King. Shout out to you Jordan. Alright, so let's see um talking about shit for the game to become an elder lord in Agnes Garland's live action movie for A24 might take another kid entirely, namely Kid Connor.

Speaker 1:

Yes, according to Deadline, garland could be looking to reunite with his warfare star as he prepares to venture into the lands between. Comes from Deadline's the Dish sidebar. Take all this with a healthy pinch of salt, because it's just the talks, it's just rumors right now, if the transfers are accurate, while the state of negotiations in the existence of any formal offer from the studio are unknown. Gunnar has already held talks with Conor. It sounds at least like talks are at least serious enough to stage a potential scheduling conflict to be in the ironing out process HFR has not commented yet and uh, but still the process of kind of reuniting to bridge out having a after having a burst on the screen in netflix's queer, why a heart stopper is tantalizing one. And in warfare, the young actor once more showed his capacity to act as a guide into a world we barely can even comprehend. So not an official, he's a big. He's rumored there might be. They might be talking right now, but yeah, I haven't seen warfare, so I don't know how, how we did. But hey, as I previously stated, warfare warfare a24 does good shit, so I'm actually fairly excited to see what they come up with with.

Speaker 1:

Other, because l elder ring is a strange one. If I, upon my first guess, uh, before we have anything, I would guess that it's not going to be an adaption of the game. I'm guessing that they might be crafting a whole original story that just takes place within the world of the of elder ring, as opposed to adapting the main story of the game. Because, from what I understand um Elden Ring, and by virtue uh, uh, from soft the developers, they tend to not do um, like their souls, games typically don't roll heavy on story. It's very much a gameplay heavy uh game uh, and this one is open world, so it's it's a lot more gameplay heavy than like the dark souls games because it's open world uh. So that's why my guess is that it will take place within the world of elder ring, as opposed to adapting, uh, the story of the game, or maybe it'll adapt uh some shit that happened in the past. Because, from my understanding of the game which I don't understand too much because I haven't played it well, I have played it. I haven't played it a lot it's like the biggest issue I have with the game. Um, like, there is a whole like past event that happens that sets the stage for where the main game happens. They like some warrior fighting and then he like leaves and he takes all his, his army people with him and they die and then you are one of them who get revived in the years after. I don't fucking know. But yeah, the whole point I'm making is that the game isn't really heavy on the story stuff. It's very gameplay, uh centric, uh the. The story is there, but you kind of have you have to dig, you have to look for it, you have to be focusing on it. Uh, it's not. The story doesn't really play out too much uh for you directly. So I'm interested to see what they do, and I'm sure that's a24. As always, a24 does good shit Alright.

Speaker 1:

Moving on, we've got Disney laying off hundreds in the film and TV entertainment and corporate finance. Again, this is TV and film, but I just decided to put it in the film section. This just happened a couple hours ago, so this is a brand new exclusive story. So major layoffs underway Monday today, the Walt Disney Company, with several hundred employees impacted globally. Deadline is learned. The bulk of them are across divisions of Disney Entertainment, including marketing for both film and television, as well as TV publicity, casting and development. Also affected are Disney's corporate financial operations. The size of the cuts in the film and TV side of Disney Entertainment is comparable. No teams are being eliminated. The majority of the Disney Entertainment television staffers are said to be based in LA. Deadline will continue its coverage of more details about those who have passed through the marriage and want to expect it to be a tough day at the Disney campuses.

Speaker 1:

This is the fourth but the largest round of layoffs in the past 10 months that has affected various disney tv operations. They are part of an ongoing cost cutting process at the traditional media companies as they reshape their business to focus on streaming while facing economic headwinds. Disney's Bob Iger set the pace upon his return to CEO, establishing a goal of at least $7.5 billion in cost reductions at the start of 2023, with about 7,000 jobs eliminated that year. So, yeah, so the job losses aren't just happening in the video game industry. They're happening in TV and movies too, which is crazy because we just read how disney could possibly be on the path to being the first studio to make two billion dollars at the box office, and now they're having these layoffs, which is crazy. Let's read up about the little previous ones. So in early march, uh, just under 200 disney employees were laid off, representing about six percent of the workforce in the ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks, including Freeform and FX. A big restructuring last October involved the shutdown of ABC's signature, with its operation folded into this 20th television I don't remember that and the constellation of ABC and Hulu original scripted drama and comedy teams. It resulted in about 30 Disney Entertainment Television layoffs.

Speaker 1:

Last July, det underwent a round of staff cuts that impacted roughly 140 people, representing about 2% of the total workforce, 60% of them at National Geographic. The latest cut followed Disney's bigger-than-expected Q2 earnings last month, fueled largely by experiences in sports, with streaming also delivering strong results, as direct-to-consumer operating profit increased by $289 million to $336 million. At the annual shareholders meeting earlier this spring, iger spoke about creating new jobs, largely in Disney experiences, including theme parks. Oh, that's what they mean by experiences? Okay, what money is Disney making from sports? Maybe I'm tripping, but I don't know what the hell they do with sports. The Disney layoffs come on the heels of staff cuts at NBC Universal, as the company is spinning off several cable networks. It with a new company named Versant.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so more corporate bigwig shit, cost-cutting, efficiency and doing all this shit for the bottom line and all that good shit, but yeah, that sucks. I hate to see people lose their jobs, especially now with the economy on the verge of being what it is, but yeah, that sucks. People lose their jobs, especially now with the uh, with the economy on the verge of being what being what it is. But yeah, that sucks again, even though it's always crazy when you hear they make these cuts, but it's right at, but apparently always comes right after there's some big report about how they make such such a large amount of money, but then they still have people lose their damn jobs. That's crazy, all right, but that's it for our movie portion.

Speaker 1:

Now we will move on over into video games. All right, cg, cg. What cyberpunk 2 moves into pre-production? As cd project red confirms, almost 100 developers are already working on it. Uh, the sci-fi is in progress behind the butcher 4, uh, and I am very excited right off the bat. I'm very shocked. I was not expecting us to see anything about this until like fucking 2037, like 2040 is probably when we're going to get this game, because I know td project red likes to work pretty slow. They got, uh, witcher 4 in the oven already.

Speaker 1:

By the way, uh, I didn't do it because I didn't, I thought it was a lengthy, but I just found out the date. Um, there is a tech demo coming up, I believe tomorrow, the third um, and in it witcher 4 is going to be featured. But it is just a tech demo, so don't expect to see a lot of like gameplay revelations or gameplay showcase or story development or anything like that. Uh, remember when, um, they did that tech showcase for, uh, that captain america black panther game, they didn't show off too much. They kind of they showed off a small little cut scene. Uh, they announced who was going to be playing cap and black panther. But in terms of any news on, like the story or any new gameplay. It didn't show any of that, but there's a tech demo tomorrow, which four is supposed to be featured, so we'll see how much they talk about uh.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, I'm shocked it happened this early. I know they've been working on it for a little bit, very early stages, uh, but I didn't think they were going to move forward on it until after the witcher 4 was done. Um, and another thing is, this could also mean that the witcher 4 may be closer to being done than than we, or at least I thought it was. Remember they just announced this at the game awards in december, I believe. Uh, so that was their announcement. So I still feel like it's a while away. It's probably not coming till next year at the at the quickest. But yeah, I was. I was even thinking that even that might be like three, four years away, but it might be closer than we think. So there we go, so we finally might be closer to Cyberpunk 2 coming out than the original game when it was first announced back in 2012. Yeah, that shit took like 12 years to come out.

Speaker 1:

Cd Projekt Red recently confirmed that the sci-fi open world RPG sequel has moved into pre-production, with roughly 100 developers currently devoted to the polo studio's second major franchise, uh cdpr outlined its current development allocation in its latest report to investors. Formerly known as project orion, cyberpunk 2 is suspected to take players back to the first game's bustling la inspired night city as well to a new hub location that's been described as akin to chicago. Oh so, we read this report last time, but it seemed like they were saying chicago was going to be the base city. They're saying that we're going to be in night city, but that one is going to be a smaller hub area. We'll see what turns out to be true. The Witcher 4 currently has 422 developers working on it, but is expected to ship before 2027. The company also notes that Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty expansion has currently sold 10 million copies and the Witcher 3 has sold 60 million copies, 10 million of which were from the last 5 years that motherfucker still moving units.

Speaker 1:

So if we assume that the serial ed follow-up doesn't end up hitting until 2028 and star punk 2 takes five years of additional development after that, we wouldn't see it until 2033, which is still basically. Which is still basically on point and on the time where I said we probably weren't getting it granted. It's a lot shorter, but that's barring any hiccups. Uh, you know, anything happening within the studio itself, anything happening with uh investors, anything happening with cyber, I mean, oh, and anything happening with the wish for four's launch? Uh, because, remember, they had a whole rope that plotted out for cyber 2077 when it first launched and when that shit on base ps4 and base xbox, uh one came out, they got, they had to go, they had to, they have to change up all that shit. So we'll see.

Speaker 1:

So we're thinking, at the very least, eight years from now is when the next cyberpunk is going to come. You might feel like forever, but remember it was seven years between the first big man, big cinematic treat, the first, uh. Seven years between the trailer for cyberpunk, the first teaser, and his buggy release in 2020. Uh, okay, this is kind of okay. Yeah, so this is what they're talking about.

Speaker 1:

So the beginning of the year, they have 411 people on the witcher. They only had 84 working on cyberpunk 2. Uh, serious hater, I don't know what those is, shared services and other projects, uh, and then they expanded. They added in at least 30 more workers, about 20, 20, 25 more workers or so. The Witcher was expanded to 422, but this was Cyberpunk was also expanded to 96 workers, so will things be smoother and faster this time around? Considering, cdpr now has lots of experience with both its third-person fantasy and first-person shooter format under its belt, maybe that's a good point too. They got the first one out the way, so now they know what they're doing, to have a better understanding of how to do it and, most importantly, hopefully they also learn from the pitfalls of its buggy ass launch that they can also be like. Okay, now we kind of know what we have to avoid to make it better. Maybe that means it goes faster.

Speaker 1:

Both franchises are also moving to unreal engine 5, and cdpr is involved in other projects as well, however, including a witcher spinoff codenamed serious. Okay, that's this. That's the red one that has a very small team on it of only about 50 people, and a new ip called hadar, which seems to be in. That's the purple one. This is very, which is in super early development, as they only have a handful of people on that one, so they're still probably just figuring out what that one is. Uh, plus the blockbuster game, development, just development, just keeps getting more complex, expensive and time consuming. What took five years to make on the ps5, might take even longer on the ps6. No wonder, then, that in the meantime, cd is trying to get the existing cyberpunk in front of more people with switch to port. Unfortunately, despite a next gen version, which was a three that came out a few years ago, switch to edition currently is not in the works. So we got. So yeah, so I'm excited.

Speaker 1:

Y'all know I love cyberpunk 2077. Go check out my walkthrough on the channel if you have not already. It's a lengthy one. It's a lengthy one, but I but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed that damn game, um, so yeah, that's cool. So hopefully I hope it actually does go a little bit faster, smidge faster. Maybe with experience now they can maybe shave off you know a year, a year and a half or so of it now, but still, let's, let's just, let's just make sure when it comes out it comes out in a smooth, stable state. That's all I want, all right, so like a bit something we missed last time.

Speaker 1:

This is another thing. This happened recently, though I think this happened the end of last week, but I figured the end of last week, um, but I figured, um, it's been long enough. Also, I had this, so I touched on on anyway. But, uh, black panther uh was canceled because it wasn't far enough along in development. So, uh, earlier this week which, like I said, it was okay, so it was early last week uh, early last week ea revealed that it had canceled the in development black panther game and shut down his developer cliffhanger studios. Uh, so, yeah, so that happened early last week. They announced that it was closing.

Speaker 1:

They were working on the black panther game uh, which, I'm not gonna lie, I kind of forgot about, or I thought this game was the uh, the rise of hydra game, the one with Captain America. Like I remember hearing that there were two, but I just thought that in my head it started out as like, oh, it's a Black Panther game which was this one. But then I was like, oh, it's a Black Panther and Captain America game. So they just kind of changed it up a little after, thinking they were the same thing. But no, they were two separate games. This one has just been in development.

Speaker 1:

It's been very quiet uh for ea, but last week they announced that they had canceled it. They shut down the studio. So we are no longer getting a black panther game. Uh, we did get some additional news, um, as to why it was canceled. We also got a further expert, uh, further explanations as to what it was. Uh, but let's start with the cancellation first.

Speaker 1:

So, pierce schreier, the cancellation was viewed as a shock to employees of the studio. Cliffhanger reportedly had been actively hiring new employees, with the black panther game recently hitting a new internal milestone. However, despite hitting the milestone, there was frustration within ea. According to schreier sources close to the game's development, ea executives were frustrated that the game had not yet left the pre-production phase after nearly four years in development. So, uh, yeah, as far as why it was taking so long for the game to develop it, which began in 2021 but were announced in 2023, a studio had the studio had just started to increase its staff count. The report says that many of the workers at cliffhanger have been hired within the last year.

Speaker 1:

Some schreier says were only with the development for a little, for as little as months and weeks, uh, and so I again made multiple uh comment, uh comments to reach out, but it has not that has hurt anything. So it seems like the the news is is that they were just dragging their feet. They were taking too long to get this thing done. Ea was kind of getting pissed because, remember, ea is paying these people to get the things done and if, after four years, they haven't moved out of pre-production, yeah, I can see how that could be a problem. Um, it only seems like they only just now started to expand stuff. So, yeah, might just be like, hey, let's just cut our losses and we'll just once you can't see, but sucks, which definitely does suck, because I was, and we'll just once you can't see but sucks, which definitely does suck, because I was pretty excited for this game.

Speaker 1:

Um, I remember when I heard this and y'all gotta remember, ea, ea got money. Ea had like two, three of the of the best-selling games last year. Uh, granted, they were both fucking football games, but they did. They had fucking Madden, college football, fifa and there was a bundle college football and Madden together in a bundle. So they had three spots in the top games, four maybe, if you count FIFA I can't remember if FIFA was actually in there and three of them were literally two games, three, but they were two games. So EA has money.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, uh, and they mentioned it in, um, the cyberpunk article game development is getting more, is getting more expensive, it's more extensiveuming and it's getting a lot more complex. So if it takes them four years and they haven't even gotten out of pre-production, they probably didn't feel comfortable continuing to give them more money to get this game done. Again, it sucks because I feel like we need more single-player games, more original IPs out there, even though it's not an original IP. But y'all, you get what I'm saying. And it sucks especially because this is EA, who tends to self-sabotage a lot of their shit. Um, I said, uh, when I first heard this, I said I feel like EA might be going the way of like Take-Two Interactive.

Speaker 1:

Uh, if y'all remember Take-Two are the people of like take two interactive. Uh, if y'all remember take two are the people behind like nba 2k. Um, so they aren't uh 2k games who do, and they do the nba 2k, they do borderlands and they also own rockstar, who's, of course, grand theft auto and recently, like last year or something, they said that they were not going to focus on. I guess you could say more risky games, basically saying that they're just focusing on making the more big budget surefire hit games that they know for a fact always make money GTA, borderlands, nba 2K that's all they're focusing on. So they're no longer doing like smaller, uh, double a, you know single player games like that. They're just doing those games and those games specifically and most importantly, you know live service games, games, that games as a service that they get to continuously make money off of after a while now I I don't think this is this is the. Okay. Yeah, this is the.

Speaker 1:

The announcement it was shut down. Let me see if I can find long afterwards talking about, like what the game would have been featured, and I believe ea even mentioned that like, yeah, we decided to cancel it because we want to focus more on shit like the sims and madden and shit like that. Okay, so blah, blah, blah, blah. It's a bloom bar reported a few more details now I can't remember, including the project to put build upon ideas. So they wanted to use stuff like shadow and mortar. They wanted it to use the nemesis system, which, of course, another fucking victim where the nemesis system is not going to be showing off, the fucking thing is just going to be fucking dead over there and fucking uh. So because, remember, they can't, the wonder woman game got canceled by uh wp and they wanted to use something similar to that in this? Um, let's see.

Speaker 1:

So the game would have featured, uh, the scrolls. In the game, the scrolls will be attempting to invade wakanda, some alien creatures posing as allies. Meanwhile, other members of the scrolls might have remembered the player's behavior and added accordingly, sort of light and shadow of Mordor, calling it an ambitious system. I do think there are like multiple characters. You can pick two, um, playable heroes like T'Challa, killmonger and Shuri, all competing to earn the title of Black Panther. Uh, could it report? Players will select one character to play as, with others then becoming rivals they could build a relationship with. Which sounds fucking cool.

Speaker 1:

Uh, despite his vision, the black panther developer had a hard time showcasing the game's narrative experiments with those close to the project, stating that the process was slow due to the team building both a new game and a new studio at the same time. So they're saying it was also slow because not only were they trying to make the game, they were still trying to fill out the goddamn studio. Hmm, uh, the game began the game. The game began the game. This is a lot of fucking g's there, g's in the crib, alright, reportedly the game had begun gaining more momentum prior to a shot cancellation. Remember, they even said that a lot of people who were working there had only been high within the last year and some people had only been there for a few months to a few weeks at the least. Um, so, yeah, oh so, I forgot to read this in the other one.

Speaker 1:

But they they have a multi-game deal with marvel. They're supposed to be making five. They're supposed to be making five marvel games. They had an iron man game. That's coming from motive that they're still apparently working on. Apparently, now that this is canned, uh, it doesn't change anything from the deal, so we can still expect to see four more marvel games coming from ea at some point.

Speaker 1:

Um, yeah, they didn't have that. They didn't have that quote. Oh well, here it is sharpen our focus and put our creative energy behind the most significant growth opportunities. I think that's here it is Sharpen our focus and put our creative energy behind the most significant growth opportunities. I think that's what it is. But basically, basically, they were saying like, oh, we just want to focus on some of our other stuff. So there you have it. This is the article they got it from. Get out my god damn face. Unlock access bitch. I ain't paying for this shit. But yeah, that's why the Black Panther game is so. So we've got news that it was canceled. We also got some news on what the game would have entailed, which, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 1:

All that shit sounded cool, sound like you could be able to make choices. You could pick a character which is dope as hell shuri, killmonger or t'challa in order to be the black panther. You make connections with allies, uh, but you'd have to be pretty Black Panther. You make connections with allies, uh, but you'd have to be pretty careful because you don't know if they're a real person or if they were a Skrull. So we got a little secret invasion thing happening in there as well, which is dope. It makes sense, especially within the game, if they continue, the fact that Wakanda is which you know, wakanda being a fairly isolationist nation, makes sense that they were in, that the Skrulls will invade there because they're cut off from the rest of the world. Also, of course, you know vibranium. So all that shit sounded cool.

Speaker 1:

But of course, you gotta worry was it too big? Was it too? Was it too much for this new studio to kind of hang on there because, like I, they were still hiring people they were trying to make the game and basically make the damn studio at the same damn time. So I don't know what y'all think. What do y'all think? I think it sucks that it's not happening, especially because especially consider that, bro, it's Black Panther man. Come on now. Come on now. Come on now. It's been, it's been this long. We still don't have a solo black panther game or solo wonder woman game. All that's just, uh, just giving all these go wokies, go brokies more ammo. All right, uh, that's what we just talked about. All right.

Speaker 1:

In other news, 007 First Light, the new James Bond game, is to be revealed this week. Project 007 from IO Interactive now has a name and a reveal window. In a post on social media, it was announced that 007 First Light will be revealed this week. The number in 007 First Light, a new game by IO. The post reads Mission Brief is headed your way soon. Stay tuned for more information. No other details given at the time of the tease as part information go as far as what we know about this. What the fuck Did they word that? Or just or did my mouth just spew a bunch of shit? While no other details were given as part of the tease. There is past information to go on as far as what. Double sim, first light will be okay, I just fucked that up. In 2023, uh, interview. I want to write the ceo.

Speaker 1:

Hacking auburn said that the game is the ultimate spycraft fantasy. The game will be a third person action game with the, with an original james bond who isn't based off any prior movies or actors. That's cool. I like that. It's also expected to be a more scripted experience than IO Interactive's Hitman games. Oh, these guys are going to make the Hitman games. I don't know, I'm not going to say it makes it better. The Hitman games just aren't my cup of tea. That's just about it. They seem to be a little bit more More of a Doesn't take itself too seriously, kind of double-A kind of game, which ain't nothing wrong with that, you know. I've just seen stuff where I'm just like it just ain't my cup of tea, it ain't my style, but maybe this one could change that. Maybe this 007 could change that.

Speaker 1:

Will Summer Games Fest take place on Friday? Holy shit, is that this Friday? Well, here you go. News drop Right now. Summer Games fest happens this fucking week, apparently. Bitch, what the fuck? Well, the site ain't up or cause I got my fucking wishbone collar on. That's probably why I'm a VPN to my ad blocker, so that shit ain't popping up up. All right, we'll come back to that. Um, it seems as though that could be where the reveal of the game will take place.

Speaker 1:

Insider games will be in los angeles for full coverage of the event. It'll bring any and all news surrounding double7 First Light and all major analysis from the weekend. I'm glad I. Let me make sure. Let me, let me mark that down, let me mark that down. Do-do-do-do-do, uh, yeah, oh, june 6th. Yeah, I had to fucking remember that. June 6th at 6 pm, okay, that's for me, central time, 4 pm. That's what I'll say. It so yeah. So, of course, me learning this now, very late. Uh, I should know more about this because, like, that's my whole thing. Uh, I'm trying to make it my thing. Um, well, of course we're going to have a recap and coverage of the biggest thing that starts about here at summary games fest. So cool. Hopefully, we get our first new look and the first big reveal of 007 first light. So that's cool, all right, high five.

Speaker 1:

Rush, dev, tango games work remains dedicated to distinctive and new ips as it starts hiring for a new action game. High five rush developer, tango games works has unveiled its new look website and confirmed it's working on an unannounced action game. The site, which shows new branding and career pages, uh, recruiting for new roles for an unannounced project, states tango games, where its core mission is to create new games and expand intellectual properties as an independent development studio based in tokyo, japan. So that's cool. So they're back, got the brand new site, another brand new logo. You know, brand brand new, everything brand new to hire for an action game. So if you interested, you can go ahead and sign up. I don't know if that's based in Tokyo, though. Here's the team. Do they still is? How about we're still their only game so far? Man, you can't even look. That sucks, let's see. They got some program senior applicator, programmers, senior graphics programmer, animators, character artists, it facilities manager, cutscene managers. So looking for, looking for some spots. So if you're interested, go ahead. And uh, go ahead and sign up. Go ahead, fill out that job application. It's in the back. Studio's new website Fits you to look into our studio. You can learn about the studio philosophy. You'll see features from members of the team. That's right, because they got bought by Krafton after fucking Microsoft closed them.

Speaker 1:

As to what the new game may be be, it's difficult to call right now. A news post published earlier today. It says tango aren't ready to reveal much yet but as a number of positions open for early work on an unannounced action game. The position span almost every department. So if you're interested in working with the team behind such hate releases, this is high five rush. Read up on the philosophy, according to a machine translation of the senior level designer program tangles, looking for someone with experience developing 3d action games in unreal engine 5. The cutscene managers I've seen similarly calls for 3d action game experiences, but don't give us clues as to what it could be for now.

Speaker 1:

Could it be high fire rush 2? I mean, I still have not beaten high fire rush. Uh it, it got. It just got lost in a backlog. I still ain't finished it. I plan to at some point, but I don't know. We'll have to see what happens there.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, tango's back. They're hiring, they're working on a new game, so hopefully we hear about oh, tokyo, ghostwire, tokyo is another game for them. Okay, so I have to see what they, what they have, what they got lined up. Of course it's gonna be the first one after their closure and revival, when they were so, when they were closed by microsoft. But then, crafting bottom, there's also reports that craft that kind of just bought them on like a knee-jerk reaction and like had no idea what they wanted to do with them, but that it seems like they got all that worked out. So now they're back and they're back to making some games. So hopefully everything works out just as much and better than it did with microsoft and high fire rush. All right, but that's it for video games.

Speaker 1:

Of course we gotta move into television and of course, our first big thing, as you found out, netflix had two of them. This happened on the 31st, remember I fucked it up on the last thing. Uh, it was happening on 31st. It's where they kind of have a big live stream, talk about all the new stuff they got coming, uh. So let's go over a quick update as to what happened. Uh, quick, having on 31st squid game wednesday, stranger things. Frankenstein, happy gilmore, wake up dead, man denies out sequel all that stuff was mentioned here, so let's talk about it when we get here.

Speaker 1:

Nobody watched this season to release date. I don't know what this is, but, um, this is coming on thursday, october 23rd. Uh, it's a romantic comedy. Second season. Is that motherfucking veronica mars, my boy? I think it is. Is that motherfucking veronica mars, my boy, I think it is. Uh, what's her name in? What's her name in the good place? I forget. Um, let's see stranger things. Three-part release. Fifth to final season will do a debut in three vibes. They milk on the hell out of that shit. Uh, the first is coming on november 26th, the second christmas day and then a third on new year's eve. So there we go. Let's look at the announcement trailer. Of course you're gonna watch that in the trailer section. Uh, the official trailer for squid game season three uh, got a sneak peek at a new trailer. We'll watch that too.

Speaker 1:

The introduction of tony tony chopper on one piece the straw hat crew gives an adorable first look at the live-action series Anticipating newcomer Tony Tony Chopper, voiced by Michaela Hoover. I like how they kept the thing of the anime where, even though Chopper is a male, they're voiced by a female. I like that because that's how it is in the anime. An official teaser unveiled for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, jacob Elordi as the monster it is in the anime, uh, an official teaser unveiled for guillermo del toro's frankenstein, uh, oscar isaac as victor frankenstein, jacob alorti as the monster. That's coming in november, uh. And then we got the first six minutes of wednesday season two uh, so you can check that out on youtube, the first six minutes of wednesday season two. I ain't watching season one, uh. And we got wake up, damn man. And eyes on mystery is coming on december 12th. We also got the A-list cast, which is the coolest, of course, daniel Craig. Then we got Glenn Close, josh Brolin, mila Kunis, kerry Washington, jamie Renner and Kaylee Spanney. So that's dope.

Speaker 1:

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon give a first look at the crime thriller the Rip, the clip of the new drama. It was exclusive to Tudum viewers only, so we don't have a clip or trailer for that one Not been posted online yet. But yeah, so first look at that. I didn't know they were doing something for that. No, brickerton season 4 news for anybody who's expected it. No, emily in Paris news, I guess, for anybody who's expected it. And I did see this. Lady Gaga had a concert to end the things, to end the show, because she has a guest role in season two of Wednesday. I believe that was shown off in the six-minute first look. So that was everything talked about at two of them for Netflix. Of course we are going to watch not all of them, a few of them. Actually, a majority of these we're going to in the trailer section. So check out with that, all right.

Speaker 1:

Next up, uh, some old news. But, like I said, tv tv has been pretty, news has been slow, so I decided why not? Apple tv said co killer drama with leah schreiber, zazie beats and steven graham. Also I love zazie beats and I love leah schreiber.

Speaker 1:

The series is based on the best-selling novels by lars ke. The streamer has a green-lit drama starring, like I mentioned before, schreiber Beetz and Graham that tracks the face-off between a homicide detective and a serial killer. The untitled show is based on a series of best-selling crime novels by Lars Kepler. Rowan Joff and John Havlin are adapting the book and will serve as showrunners Tim Valpat, patton I almost said pattern and pelt We'll direct the first two episodes and executive produced with Josh and Havlin. Lars Kepler is the pen name of married couple Alexandra Colejo and Okay, but I was your damn names Alexandra and Alexander. Yeah, the married couple. The series is based off the kepler's juno lena series transplant, transplanting the action from sweden to the us.

Speaker 1:

The show's description reads jonah lynch, who's played by schreiber, an ex-soldier turned homicide detective, tired of working the tough streets of philly, moves to a small town in western pennsylvania for a quiet life. But as the town and his family come under attack from the diabolical cunning serial killer, uh, jurick walter, who's played by graham, jonah, must protect all they hold dear. When the desperate search for jurick's last missing victim forces jonah to send his adopted daughter, fbi agent saga bauer, played by, played by, beats up against Jurek, how far will Jonah go? So it sounds pretty cool. I like the character here. He has one of those faces that looks familiar, but I cannot. I will not know his name and I cannot tell you what he's in, but he looks very familiar. Let's find out this is. Let's find out. This is England. Let's see. Venom of Last Dance is in the Matilda musical. Help the Irishman. It's in the Matilda musical. Help Bon Bon Ton, grand Hound, save me the Irishman. Shit Actually, motherfucker. There's not been a lot of stuff I've actually seen and know Been a lot of shit, though Been in a lot of shit over the years. We'll see, but yeah, cool, I like, I like swiper, I like beats, so see how it goes. All right, uh, again, this is. This is some older news. I'm like I mentioned before, but we've been following all the casting updates so far so of course I couldn't not include the casting for our three main characters for the show.

Speaker 1:

Hbo harry potter tv series cast newcomers harry ron and hermione rolls. Jordan king again, I just can't. I can't escape him, I can't get away. Let's see, 24 years ago, the lives of daniel radcliffe, emma watson and rupert grint were changed forever when they made their debut appearances as harry potter. Hermione granger and wanda riesley and christopher columbus's harry potter and the philosopher's stone. Now, nearly a quarter century later, hbo has found a new golden trio to lead its ambitious, decade-spanning harry potter series. And it won't be in a child, and there won't be a child in the world who won't soon know their names. They're true. Let's see harry potter dominic mcclellan. The next hermione is arabella stanton, and ron leesley is played by alistair stout, and of course we're in this picture already. You already know, y'all already know people gonna be pissed just because, just because they didn't, they didn't cast a white Hermione, so of course they're going to be oh no, she look a little brown.

Speaker 1:

Thelma's Children of Audition for the roles of the most famous kids in literary and screen history. Okay, jordan's doing the Jordan thing, so, yeah, so here I know. So of course, they're going to be joined by a bunch of people who also got cast John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, nick Frost as Hagrid Papa Isidu as Severus Snape, janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, luke Thornton as Professor Quirley and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Finch. Other key roles, including Voldemort, malfoy, the Dursley and the rest of the Weasleys, have yet to be announced. Y'all think we're going to get Voldemort in season one. I feel like that's the person they're going to make me save for later seasons, because it's supposed to be, as of right now, right A season for each book, so I could see Voldemort coming up a little later. Again, I haven't read the books, haven't read the books, I just know the movies. So if I'm thinking about, like, in the movies voldemort didn't make a physical appearance until, uh, the goblet of fire, right, that was book three, I think three, I think. So they might not, they might not have to cast a voldemort until that. But again, don't know if they just did that for the movies if they appear. Before. That we'll see. Uh, malfoy is pretty important, so they got. The dersies are important to say. I cast them. Uh, set to run over the next decade.

Speaker 1:

The series, a series dedicated to each individual Harry Potter book. Yep, the Cable's Network's first non. What? What the hell is this Non-theoregenic offensive?

Speaker 1:

What the hell is that? What does that mean? Why is it giving me a bunch of Ian's? Why is why is give me a bunch of ians? Oh, thrown easy. It's a, it's a word they made up, thrown easy. And it's the first non-fant, the first fantasy show they've got. That's not game of thrones. Okay, I just should have kept reading. I'm, I'm sorry. What the fuck is that?

Speaker 1:

Uh, as such, with the cast, this stat pressure so high and the mirror of the beloved original wb movie still very fresh in the minds of potterheads all over the world, are they? When's the last time we got a harry potter movie? When was the? When was the? When did the third fantastic beast movie come out? Uh, 2022. Okay, that actually is. That actually is fairly very recent, but to my understanding, nobody really liked this movie. To my understanding, nobody really liked these movies that much.

Speaker 1:

So you know, maybe, but we'll see, we'll'll see, I'll, I'll be checking it out. I'm interested to see. I mean, I mean, at this point I'm, I'm 30, I don't know if I end up. I'm like I'm fucking 30 years old. I don't know if I end up reading the books, I don't know if I got time for that, um, but I'm interested to see. You know what the series does, diving more into the books than the movies did.

Speaker 1:

All right next up, like I said, it's a slow news day. All-american renewed for eighth and final season at the CW. You know, I don't know, it wasn't too much to talk about. The Young Adult series from showrunner Nikki Oroko Carol and showrunner Jamie Turner is renewed for 13 more episodes. No premiere date just yet. The episodes are expected to air in 2026.

Speaker 1:

The season 7 finale came on May 5th, which was not too long ago Left on a cliffhanger. So new season, final season. I don't know Any All-American fans out there. There you go, um, this is their top show. Number one performer on the cw app final season bitch. What the fuck, mindhunter? What the hell just happened? I don't know what the fuck just happened, but uh, yeah, apparently, apparently it's the cw's top show right now.

Speaker 1:
