Hello, all you awesome people out there, welcome and welcome back to Geek Business Entertainment. I'm your host, as always, hoover, and we are back with a brand new episode of News Drop giving you some of the big news stories from our big three. Whenever I get these episodes up, it's been quite a while since the last episode, but yeah, we're back. We're back here doing it, got a brand new episode of News Drop, got a couple news stories and articles, things to talk about, things to discuss, things to reveal, reveal and hopefully I'll drop something new on you here today. All right, so some of the things we're going to talk about here today uh, in our film portion, we got to talk about some brand new updates for another live action street fighter casting news. Uh, we got duane johnson a24 teaming back up again. Um, we got some more hunger games casting awards and we have, uh, something which is wholeheartedly new, uh, something I didn't even know of existed the cinema, the cinema, the cinematic mustique award, the, the cinematic math geek, I don't know how to say it, but uh, yeah, some new, wholly new to me, so we're gonna talk about that today too. Uh, on the video game side, we got a possible tease of the new location for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. Uh, new games coming to Game Pass uh, this month or next month, whatever. Um, another Xbox exclusive is coming to playstation. Uh, we got a possible sequel of a new of a game that might have been secretly stealth dropped.
Speaker 1:Uh, I had some little quick hit things I want to talk about a little bit. Uh to in reliance in relations to borderlands 4 and dragon age. Uh, and then for television, we got a new series coming from sterling kelly brown. We've got some uh new updates on the brand new season of yellow jackets. Um, we got some news updates on netflix's last airbender, the next season. For that next two seasons. Actually, a video game adaption is getting a animated series and a surprising, uh maybe disappointing update on, uh, another season of a certain show that is out right now. So we'll be talking about all that today and then, of course, at the very end, we'll be going over some trailers and looking at and watching all of those.
Speaker 1:So that is what we are going to be talking about here today. So, as usual, let me stop yapping about it and let's drop right into the news, shall we all right? So, first up, we have. I picked the wrong, all right. Jason momoa, andrew koji, noah sentino and roman reigns in talks to star in street fighter. Uh, legendary and capcom are co-developing the adaption of the popular video game franchise is going to be directed by kita sakurai. So the people I just mentioned that, as the hollywood reporter has confirmed, uh based on the proper street fighter video game. The project is in partnership with capcom and has not yet announced its cast, but it's understood that momoa, kojima, sentino and rains are circling the adaption in early negotiations.
Speaker 1:Uh, kitaki kitawa sakurai, best known for writing, directing, executive producing the eric andre show. That's weird, what's it? What was the other show? That was like a very. We know it was another movie. It was a split fiction. Uh, another movie, another video game, movie adaption. That just has a very strange combination of of of people involved behind the scenes. So, uh, this was earlier announced to direct the adaption. Capcom is deeply involved with the project.
Speaker 1:Uh, legendary, co-developing and co-producing alongside uh developer and publisher. Uh, one of the most enduring fighting game franchises of all time. Uh. The series began in 87 on arcade arcade game. Street fighter set a high watermark for arcade games. With street fighter 2, uh, released in 1991, first to offer a choice of characters with fighting techniques, was revolutionized. One-on-one play. Street Fighter 6 is the latest entry in the franchise, released on June 20, 2023, won the Game Award for Best Fighting Game.
Speaker 1:We do have previous incarnations of Street Fighter. Movies was set with Danny and Michael Filippo, with Australian twin filmmaker duo behind Horace Tull. They had another movie out coming out pretty soon too. I'll say Baby, come Back, bring Her Back. That's them too right. A feature adaption named Street Fighter hit theaters in 1984. That one starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, raul Julia I feel like I said his name wrong, I should know how to say his name and Ming-Na Wen. Then we also had the 2009 Fox release of the Legend of Chun-Li. Y'all remember that. Neither do I. This is, of course, continuing on the massive streak Hollywood is seeing with video game movie adaptions. Of course you got Super Mario, sonic and Minecraft, which all did massive numbers in the theaters. We're kind of entering a very strange video game movie boom right now In just the last news that we had when I talked about, I believe, the last episode, when I talked about the Split Fiction movie.
Speaker 1:It also had another list of a bunch of other Video game movies that are in development In pre-production. We'll see which of which of those multiples actually get made. I think there's like a Just Cause movie. Like we mentioned, split fiction, it was Sidney Sweeney and Michael Bay. They are collaborating to produce Some Racing video game. It was Sidney Sweeney and Michael Bay collaborated to produce some racing video game.
Speaker 1:I was going to say Crazy Taxi, but it's not Crazy Taxi. Let's see, there are 44. It seems like. Granted, this is probably across both TV and movies. Uh, let's see Outlast Helldivers. These are just a couple.
Speaker 1:Watch Dogs, watch Dogs. Watch Dogs already shot. What the fuck? Principal Photography right after September. They're in post-production, what the hell? We know.
Speaker 1:Sonic 4. I remember this was announced A Death Stranding movie. What the fuck? Dead by Daylight. Legend of Zelda we know what's happening. Resident Evil Outrun that's what it was. Split Fiction we know what's happening.
Speaker 1:This has been a development hell for so fucking long. I think recently Netflix kind of revamped the direction of it, so that might have happened Just Cause, like I mentioned got announced. Just Dance what the fuck? I forgot about Five Nights at Freddy's. That already has a movie out. What is that? Metal Gear Solid, I don't know about that. Mortal Kombat 2? I forgot about that one. Pac-man Is this a Detective Pikachu sequel? It's an active development so we don't really know Like I said, there are a lot of them happening how many actually come to move.
Speaker 1:Saints row is that still happening? Oh, it's been in development. Hell, that's what I thought. I remember this was fucking years ago. That, um, they was talking about doing a san sereno movie. I remember very, very super early on. I remember eminem was attached in in what, in what capacity, I don't remember, I don't know, but I know that was the thing. Seafood, slime, rancher, space channel 5 uh, stray, I remember stray because ediperna, we just talked about street fighters, streets of rage, so, yeah, so there are a lot of that's right.
Speaker 1:They did announce they were doing an expenditure 33 movie. They announced they were doing a movie before the fucking game even came out. They're lucky. This game actually is already in the fucking game of the year. Uh, contender talks, because if it came out and it was ass, that had been. That's in trouble. But I forgot. They did announce that to rise in the fucking industry.
Speaker 1:Plant video game Duke Nukem, firewatch, firewatch I ain't heard it firewatch in a minute, ghost of Tsushima. So there are a lot of fucking video game movies happening right now. So we'll wait and see, but yeah, so what do y'all think of this? What do y'all think of this casting of um that they are currently in early talks with? Who do you think they'll be playing? My knowledge of Street Fighter is not fully there. Uh, so I I'm not sure.
Speaker 1:Um, I will say right off, rip, I could definitely see possibly being ryu and ken right here. Possibly you think jason, I could see jason. I could see jason momoa doing m bison, I can see that. I can see that Roman Reigns. Who could Roman Reigns be? I can see Roman being that bison too.
Speaker 1:I don't know too much about Street Fighter. I'm trying to think of any Samoan characters they have in there. I don't know. I was going to say I can't really see. Uh, guy will be in one of them. I was like you gotta have the blonde hair, probably american. But then I remember, oh, they have fucking jean-caul van damme playing in. The original was so fucking. Anything is possible? Oh, we'll see. Fucking roman reigns is uh dawson fucking, so let's see. So, yeah, early talks uh, we'll see, we'll keep an eye on and we'll see what any of we'll find out when any official casting updates get announced and when they got an official cast putting uh ink to paper. So we'll wait and see.
Speaker 1:Uh next up uh, continuing on. The wrestler turned actor train, duane johnson is reteaming with a24 on psychological thriller breakthrough. Uh, after working on a24 the smashing machine uh coming out later this year duane johnson is looking to get back in business with the studio. Uh, it's come aboard to co-star in breakthrough, a psychological thriller penned by up-and-comer zach. I mean zeke goodman, oh, he wrote it up-and-comer. They say he's up-and-comer Zach. I mean Zeke Goodman, oh, he wrote it up-and-comer. They say he's up-and-comer. What does he got so far? Uh, scotty's Fads. Okay, rent free uh, I know what you did. There was a. I know what you did last summer in 2021. I know there's one that just. I know there's one that they're doing now that that's crazy. I didn't know that he's an actor and a writer. Let me see what has he done Hunting, party, cooling, attentions, kill Girl I don't know any of these. Okay, so I guess Up and Comer is definitely. He's definitely got a lot of gigs, but none of them have been like massive. He's definitely got a lot of gigs, but none of them have been like massive.
Speaker 1:All right, set in turn of the millennium, southern california, the story follows an alienated young man who comes under the influence of a motivational guru whose intoxicating charm masks his merely questionable methods and manipulation and his own concealed darkness. Um, I was. They didn't even have to tell me. I was just about to say I could definitely see, I've been, I've been already told that's going to be the rocks character, that guru they're talking about. We're told johnson will play the supporting role of the guru, with casting still underway for the lead and other supporting parts. I was just so like, yeah, I could see he could, he could be that guru. Um, there's no direction on the project yet, but it will be produced and financed by h24. Uh, yeah, okay, cool, all the good stuff. Um, yeah, god damn it. I need to just start speaking before I scroll down. Read the rest of it.
Speaker 1:I was literally about to say the rock has seemingly I'm sorry, dwayne johnson has seemingly this man has been acting for like 20 damn years and he's only just now finally starting to fucking uh develop a damn bag. You know, he's been doing the fucking action hero shit for decades and now it's funny because now it seems like now that that well's kind of gone dry, because you know, he had that whole fucking um controversy a while back when it was kind of revealed how he acts behind set uh, behind set, how he acts behind the cameras on set uh, his fail, uh, takeover of the dc universe. Uh, the failure of black adam. So it seems like, after all that it seemed like he's only just now finally starting to want to try to expand and finally take more and more serious acting roles. So yeah, in recent years johnson's attached to just the projects that show a different side of his capabilities as a performer. Breakthrough is no different. Earlier this year he set up ripped and an adaption of a short story by joe uh ballerini ballerini, ballerini in 20th century studios with an eye to produce via the you know his seven bucks studio. Seven bucks studios uh, this is the only high profile project he has there at the moment. He's also at the start opposite leonardo dicaprio and emily blunt in the in 20th untitled horion crime pic directed by mart Scorsese.
Speaker 1:I did not fucking know that. And of course we know he has the Smashing Machine coming later this year. So, yeah, it's taking this man this long to actually finally start like taking more drama, less action shit. So, very interesting. The Smashing Machine is gonna definitely be like you know the reception how he is in. That is gonna like you know the reception how he is in. That is going to like really kind of see how it is. I'm glad he's finally fucking doing it, because you could only do the fucking action hero shit for so long. I'm just shocked it takes him this long. I'm not gonna lie. I feel I'm not gonna lie. I feel like patista might, for might have kind of forced him to kind of do this, because patista came right out through the gate kind of like I actually want to be an actor, I want my shit to be taken seriously, and he's been doing the more, uh, he's been he's he has not just stuck himself into the comedy action hero stuff he's been doing, he's been trying to take on a lot of different other stuff. So it's cool. So I think that might have been like oh, they, they're already saying he could be the actually the the best wrestler turned actor, because the man actually wants to actually fucking act.
Speaker 1:I seen something a while ago. I seen a youtube video a while ago, um, and a guy, and it was like a guy, he watched all of. I don't want to fuck up my playlist is the guy. He watched every, he watched every. I'm gonna just put the rock movie. He watched, like every rock movie. This guy right here shout out to uh, uh, randy marty, randy marty, whatever ramdy marty shout outs to him. I watched his video a while ago. He watched all these and I feel like he has. He has the best summary of the Rock's acting career, where the Rock isn't interested in being, he's not interested in being an actor, he's interested in being a Hollywood superstar. And I was like damn, that's kind of true, because everything he does do is he doesn't do a lot of drama stuff. So he's finally starting to do it. I will say I did like him in Painting Game, though I did like him in that one, all right.
Speaker 1:Next up, ralph finished to play President Snow in the 100 Games, sunrise on the Reaping, all right. So, of course, written by Jordan King, the only the, the, the only writer for Empire's website, I swear to God. So we all know he's played a lot of. He's played a lot of villains in his time, but now he's getting in touch with better angels. Ok, so he's on the way to play Big bad in, uh, president snow and francis lawrence's upcoming hunger games prequel sunrise on the reaping. Uh, what's this? Oh god, y'all couldn't hear that, but that was good, because that shit was so fucking loud out the gate. All right, previously played by the late great don, so the lindy and the original hunger games quadrilogy, and then, as a younger man, by tom blythe in the 2023 prequel. Ballot us up. You know, I'll pay fucking attention to Hunger Games.
Speaker 1:We've been following the casting for this movie for a while. I thought this was the start of the prequel movies. I didn't know one happened already. I did not know one was already out and already happened, fucking two years ago. Damn, whatever, uh Corliss. Damn whatever, uh. Corallus coriolanus, I don't know.
Speaker 1:Snow is the primary antagonist of both, uh, dystopian ya books in the film that followed it. Arch manipulator, who's president? Who presides over the games win or die battle royal and pulls strings as president of panem? So, yeah, so ralph finnis is adding another influential villain to his belt gathered him like thanos. Like thanos in the affinity stones, uh, but there was another. I did because it listed here, I think.
Speaker 1:But uh, what's her name just got cast in the movie too, was it? Maya hawke? Watch this, we we risk. I think that was the other one. Maya hawke was recently cast in the movie as well. So finnis will be joined in the movie by a stat cast that includes Jeffrey Zada as Young Haymitch, mckenna Grace as Katniss-like hero, maisley Donner, whitney Peek as Lenora Dove of, who loved Dove Baird. Jesse Plemons is playing Plutarch Heavispeed you got these goddamn names. Kelvin Harrison Jr is Mentor BT, lily Taylor is Mags, ben Wagg is Wyatt Callow and Maya Hogg has been cast as Revis. So, yeah, pretty stat cast here. The Hunger Games Survival and Reaping is coming to theaters on November 20th of next year, 2026. So there you go. Another big name in the Hunger Games world, alright.
Speaker 1:And our final film story here, michael B Jordan is to receive the American Cinematheque Award. Again, I don't know what the hell this is. I've never heard of this, ever. The Cinematheque Award Google, search for me to get some history on there. Okay, wikipedia, okay.
Speaker 1:The american cinemateek award annually honors an extraordinary artist in the entertainment industry who is fully engaged in his or her work and is committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion pictures. They are organized by the american cinematica independent non-profit cultural organization in la, dedicated exclusively to the public presentation of the moving images in its form. I have never heard of this um heavy hitter awards though eddie murphy, bit middler, robin williams, spielberg, scorsese, connery douglas, rob reiner, gibson, travolta, schwarzenegger, foster, willis cage, washington, kidman, pacino, robert sam, jack, rdj, ben stiller, mcconaughey, witherspoon, amy, andrew, bradley, cooper chalice, darrell scarjo, ryan reynolds, helen miriam. Yeah, so I'll say like it seemed like it just kind of just awards, awards people who are just like nose to the grindstone, just putting in work. It's the workhorse. It's the workhorse award for movies. You know it's the intercontinental title of movies and the next recipient of it will be michael b jordan. To become the 39th recipient of the award, the center star and creed 3 director will be feted with a tribute ceremony on november 20th at the beverly hilton at the beverly hilton in beverly hills.
Speaker 1:Uh, the career of michael b jordan has been an unparalleled showcase in the combination of superb talent and purposeful vision that has made him a major power in today's movie business, said the uh board, rick nikita, in a statement announcing the news. He entered the ranks of movie stars with fruitvale station and rapidly followed up with iconic ones in black panther, three cream movies, including his directorial debut in three. With his directorial efforts, with more directorial efforts to come, he has become a prolific producer with multiple projects across our business and fit. His philanthropic activities are many and wide ranging, most recently his outstated performance performances he has performances is in the worldwide smash centers have submitted his place in the upper tiers of movie stars now and in the future. Uh, the award is one of. Uh, it's one among a slew of recent artists for jordan. Uh, he's been named a time 100 honoree, earned an academy museum vanguard award, got a star on the walk of fame. Uh, that's cool, that's cool, that's cool.
Speaker 1:It's been really I I don't know if I've said this on camera before, but it has been very dope as fuck to see his career blossom over the years, especially when I will forever, forever remember this nigga as wallace in the wire what the fucking cornrows fucking getting high on his own supply and shit. And me when I have a show that I genuinely like, love and I've come to like appreciate. I typically always try my best to follow who's ever involved in that show. Afterwards it's like same thing with like SNL and Lost, uh, and like Heroes and like the Good Place. So when there's a show I really really fucking like I like to just follow the, the, the people who are involved in it after the show. And, yeah, just to see his rise after the wire, especially when he had such a small role. He was really only for like that one season and he didn't even make it the whole season. They spoiler, I guess, for a damn near what 30 year old show. He wasn't even in the full season. They killed him off before season one was over. So it's been really cool to see.
Speaker 1:And now I know this, now I know this award. Now I've never heard of it before now, but now I know of it. So now it's something I'm gonna have to make, keep an eye on, keep coming back to that year after year. So we'll see. So anyway, that is it for our film portion.
Speaker 1:You know, nothing too long, not too much really popping off right now. Actually, let's, I got my fucking ad blocker on. I was gonna say let's see if anything new has happened today that I missed cause I gathered all these yesterday. So if there's anything that dropped today that I haven't seen yet, I was checking out but I got my damn ad blocker on and these motherfuckers like to work real fucking slow. When you got it on, let's see. Don't look like it. Uh, jimmy, come with, joins the smurfs. So yeah, cool. Uh, yeah, don't look like. Don't look like too much. Boom house and meta launch horrorverse game featuring megan. All right, yeah, I don't feel like I missed too much. Doesn't look like anything popped off today so far. Nope, that's it all right, moving on. Now we will get to video games, all right, um, it doesn't feel like blade runner.
Speaker 1:Cyberpunk's creator cheeses one of cyberpunk 2077 sequels new locations, saying it feels more like chicago gone wrong. That sounds good to me. The sequel to cyberpunk 2077 was announced a couple years ago during an adventures presentation, but all we were told was that it was only in the earlier stages of development. Since then, we've not heard a whole lot about project orion. But that's where cyberpunk creator mike pondsmith comes in.
Speaker 1:During an interview with what tv gurry, I don't know as part of the Digital Dragons event, ponsmith discussed his history with Cyberpunk from its inception to the development of 2077 to Orion, spent a lot of time talking to one of the environment guys and he was explaining the new place in Orion that we visit. I remember looking at it and going yeah, I understand the feeling that you're going for with this. This really does work. It doesn't feel like Blade Runner. It feels like it feels more like chicago gone wrong. Chicago gone wrong is a wild descriptor but I get it. I've never been to chicago, but a cyberpunk game set in its clustered urban environment with all the railroads, frozen rivers and industrial sites, sounds are really cool and it's actually the new kind of place I love to explore in the sequel. Uh, it also seems like a great alternative to the iconic night city, which was sleek but gaudy with his neons. The eon size of glass skyscraper is more industrial, lived in. To take on cyberpunk seemed like a good idea and pops was saying I can see this working is all the reassurance I need. He also clarifies that not being like blade Runner isn't anyone meant to be an insult. It's my favorite movie, but having more variation than just a single muti-futuristic dystopia is also very welcome.
Speaker 1:The genre used to be very niche when we started it. I think part of that is how the genre has matured and I also like what CD Projekt did, but sort of refined what Cyberpunk was like. It isn't just Blade Runner CD Projekt did, but sort of refined what Cyberpunk was like. It isn't just Blade Runner. So, unlike Cyberpunk 2077, he's taking a more hands-off approach. For Orion I'm probably not as involved, but that's because I have someone to help me. We have a designer on our crew and Jay is that guy. He talks to the CD Projekt guys as much as I do, so that frees me up to do a lot of things. That's cool.
Speaker 1:I'm not gonna lie, I had a funny ass idea because they said it doesn't feel like blade runner, it feels like chicago gone wrong. So before I read this, I was like he said the first was like blade runner, but now this was like chicago gone wrong. Immediately you go to the city, which it seems like that is what they were talking about. Um, but the thing that came to my mind was like what if there's a movie called uh, chicago, and it was, and it's just like, it's just like fucking, uh, it's like this old school, like broadway-esque, like chicago. So I was like what if that's what he? What if that's what he meant? Uh, let's see. What is this movie about?
Speaker 1:Nightclub cessation, velma murders her philandering husband and chicago slickest lawyer, billy, is set to defend her. But when roxy also winds up in prison, billy takes on her case as well, turning her into a media circus of headlines. Neither woman will be outdone in their fight against each other and public for fame and celebrity. I can't lie though. I've seen the. I just seen the poster. I was like, oh damn, what if it was like some kind of like old school broadway thing and it's like you know, some shit like this, but going wrong, and that's what the future is, uh.
Speaker 1:But I can't lie reading this description that is very cyberpunk-y the obsession with fame and celebrity culture, even when you're involved in something that's totally wrong, because, remember, old girls only have a case for catching a body. So I'm reading that I'm like you know what? That idea might not be too far off. That's very cyberpunkish in there. But yeah, I just thought it was funny if, like, that's what he's talking about.
Speaker 1:But yeah, I mean if it's if, if the next game takes place in chicago, a more um, a more. If it's a chicago going wrong, I would guess it's more of an urban. I would think like, um, what's the what's that? What's the one part of the city called pacifica? I think it's more like specifica, but on a grander scale, just a very abandoned kind of place, but more more. You know less skysc, concrete, you know some shit like that. I think that would be. I think that could be pretty dope. Um, but yeah, but of course we'll have to wait and see.
Speaker 1:We are, as project orion, the cyberpunk sequel is probably it's more than likely a ways away off, like a long ass way off, because they've got, of course, they got Witcher 4 in the pipeline right now. That's what they're doing next, so this might be after that. So we probably won't be seeing anything from that until, like you know, fucking damn near the 2030s or something, maybe. But all right. So, yeah, I'm excited, I'm excited and yeah, definitely got gotta take the time with it so we don't have a debacle like cyberpunk 2077's launch. So, yeah, all right.
Speaker 1:Moving on, we got some quick hit ones here. Uh, senua saga, hellblade 2 enhanced comes to playstation this summer between four to five. Doom the dark age and indiana jones the great circle xbox exclusives aren't so exclusive anymore. All three have made their way to the PS5 in the past few months, and today we learned that Hellblade 2, the Ninja Theories game, will be joining the ranks to make its way onto Sony sometime this summer. You can hear it announced by the team itself in the trailer below. Well, we can check that out real quick.
Speaker 2:We can check that out real quick. Today, on the one-year anniversary of the release of Senua's Saga, hellblade 2, we're excited to share some news with you on the game. We're so happy to tell you our fans that Hellblade 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5 this summer. This version of the game will include some new features which will also be coming to Xbox and PC at the same time as an update. We have such incredible fans of Ninja Theory on PlayStation, going all the way back to the days of Heavenly Sword, and we're so pleased that we can welcome PlayStation fans back to sell the story.
Speaker 1:And so the team have been working hard to optimize Hellblade 2 for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro to give you the very best experience we can, and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon so there you go, another xbox exclusive heading on over to playstation, and I bet, once it comes out, it will be one of the highest selling games on playstation, because every time an xbox game drops in there, that's what happens. Um, also find it really funny. I'm not saying it does, I'm not saying it's impossible, because I, in fact, was one of those people, but now that I'm, you know, I'm sorry if I, if I, if I've evolved, if I, if I have ascended, uh, if you will, but I do find it funny. I like people tend to stick to just one family of consoles, like they say, like oh, we haven't been apart with our sony family and our sony fans since the days of heavenly sword, which is like I believe. So it's like the fact that you know somebody would have been a ps, you know ps3, 4 and now 5, uh, and never touched an xbox. It's kind of weird because, but it does happen. It does happen. Like I said, I was one of those I have to ps. Well, I jumped on late, I didn't, I didn't have a, actually, no way. It is kind of weird because I have kind of jumped around to every damn thing in my life, like I started very early with, like a nintendo.
Speaker 1:I can't remember how it happened or when it happened. I think at some point a guy in my neighborhood offered to trade us trade systems. I can't remember if I had a ps1 and I traded for his 64, or if he had, or if I had a 64 and I traded for his ps1. I can't remember if that was the way it happened. Um, I think it happened. I had a ps1 and I traded for his n64, because I have a lot more memories with an n64 than I do the playstation 1, which you know, in hindsight might not have been the, might not have been the smartest and best choice, but you fucking dumbass kid, what do you know? Uh, but yeah, because, like I had an intent, I had a 64. I believe I had a super nintendo for a while. Uh, I do remember a little bit. I didn't put I do think that's how I have it because I'm around a ps1 for a very short amount of time um, I had a gamecube. I had very light experiences with the ps2. I can't remember what happened. I don't think it was my, I think it's more like a house ps2. I can't remember. Um, honestly, I kind of stuck with the Nintendo for the most part. Then I had a Gamecube, then I had a 360, but then it got stolen and then I got another one and then I got the Red Wings of Death. Sad to jump back to the fucking PS2 Family, had a Wii for a little bit and then, I think after that is when I got a ps3 and I think I was kind of set from there, had a three, then I got the four. You know, you know. So I have kind of jumped around quite a bit. All right, next up. That's enough of that tangent xbox.
Speaker 1:Game pass has too many cool games come this month. Um, I just saw this fucking the headline and I saw this picture and I was like, holy shit, metaphor refintazio is coming to game pass for may game pad. I said it last time. I'm saying again game pass is on a fucking roll right now. Game Pass is feeding families right now. Game Pass is fucking saving the world right now. Fucking south of midnight.
Speaker 1:Expedition 33, doom Dark Age just came out and now you got fucking Metaphor ReFantasia, one of the best games of last year, is coming to the console now and, by the way, expedition 33 is already in the game of the year conversation. Uh oh, split fiction. Split fiction and expedition 33 are already in the game of the year conversations. You can play those for free on game pass. Uh, south of midnight and doom the dark ages are two very solid games that I do think we are going to be seeing them mentioned in a few categories at the end of the year in the Game Awards. Both of those are on there. And now you have a Game of the Year contender from last year on this bitch. Now that's crazy, see. This is why I was saying I didn't start speaking before we started scrolling down, because they said the same thing. I was saying Xbox has been killing it this year and May is especially packed. We got Game of the Year Contender Metaphor, refantasio, which is funny because I still have not played.
Speaker 1:I bought this on a Black Friday sale and I was like, okay, I could play it sometime next year in my own time, I could finally play it, I could finally experience it. I still haven't played it yet. I've been kind of RPG'd out. I played Origin. I'm back to playing Origins again, but I played Origins. I played Cyberpunk 2077. And then I went to Dragon Age, the Veilguard, and now I got to jump back to Dragon Age Origins to finish that off. So I'm kind of rpg'd out, so that's why I haven't turned it on yet. I'm trying to play other stuff, not to mention I've. I was stuck for a minute and I hadn't played in a while. I started playing barter's gate 3 again, I'm back. I'm I'm back in love with this shit. I'm back. I've been, I've been playing hard for like the last three days of just putting hours in on that shit, because now I'm back in love with that game now too. So I thought I was rpg'd out and then I started playing baldur's gate. Now I'm back in the rpg business. So there we go, there we go, all right.
Speaker 1:April salt south of midnight uh, I forgot about the elder scrolls. Oblivion came out for that bitch too, damn. Uh, this month it was revenge of savage planet and doom. Dark ages 2023. Indie cult. Hit dredge also arrived. Warhammer uh, verminite, vermin, tide 2, and the second half is even more loaded. So this is what they got coming the game pass in may.
Speaker 1:Wave 2 uh, monster train 2. Tales of kinsera uh, zaw, tom Clancy's. Division 2, t2, 2 of T. I can't speak. The previous bitch in metaphor spray paint simulator. I was gonna talk shit, but, no lie, we might have to check that. We might have to check that out. I never got the. I never got the simulator games that much until I played powerwall simulator. That shit was my chill game for like a year, like I was just like damn, you know what. It's a little late, I'm a little tired. I know I ain't got that much time to put into nothing. Fuck, fuck it. Just turn Powerwall Simulator in, have some music going. Fuck it, just play the shit out of that. So I get it now. So we might have to check out Spray Paint Simulator. I'm doing the opposite. I got to go the opposite Before. I was cleaning up the shit. Now we got to mess the shit up. Now we gotta mess up the walls. Now we gotta tag them.
Speaker 1:Uh, crypt, custodian and sympha and symphonia all coming in the second wave. Uh, monster 2 arrives today. It's a sequel to uh, to a great deck building role of light from 2020. Uh, I was getting ready for you so far. Uh to a t is a newer slice of life's puzzle game from the Katamari Damacy creator, a kid who can't put his arms down. Tales of Kinzura Za, meanwhile, is the great Metroidvania platformer from last year, crypt Custodian, which came out in 2024, is an excellent top-down Zeldavania About a cat in the afterlife.
Speaker 1:That bounty which, uh, arrives as microsoft facing increased criticism and call for boycott over its business deals with the israeli military. What that bounty which? What the fuck? What are we talking about? I'll skip some, okay, whatever, I don't know, I ain't never heard of that.
Speaker 1:Uh, the latest, uh, and then, of course, uh, the latest mammoth fits the rpg from atlas's persona team metaphor, re-fantasy, if you recently finished up clear as curious as this in third three, and I'm hungry for more turn-based action and class-based tinkering. You're in for luck, you're in luck. So, yeah, here we go. Game pass is continuing to feed people, especially because which is funny I say that because this thing is going to take away fucking, uh, food stamps and shit. But anywho, moving on, and another one, a Stellar Blade sequel quietly revealed by developer Shift Up 2024. Stellar Blade has shifted, no pun intended. Is this Jordan again? Is this Jordan King? Okay, I was gonna say, is Jordan King having another gig running for Insider Gaming? Developer Shift Up already looks to have unveiled Stellar Blade 2 during a recent company presentation document.
Speaker 1:Stellar Blade 2 during a recent company presentation document. Stellar Blade did a stellar job. It gave developers a shift up of record-breaking gear which earned its employees PS5 Pros and other bonuses, and a PC release should see its popularity and sales increase. The team is understandably happy with its effort, but a sequel could be in the works already and the release turnaround might be sooner than you think. A shift up presentation from May 16th went through the company's recent finances, awards and plans for the future. If we skip to page 19, we can see an interesting chart showing scheduled plans for Goddess of Victory, nikkei, another shift-up title, a potential future title labeled Project Witches for Now, and Silver Blade. A closer look at thear Blade's section shows that platform expansion is planned and a sequel. This is all planned for before 2027, meaning we can expect Stellar Blade 2 anytime between now and the end of 2026. Platform expansion, sequel and then Project Witches Plans are subject to change. Change, sure, delays and unforeseen circumstances could push a potential stellar blade 2 release window back even more, but it looks quite clear that celebrate 2 is happening.
Speaker 1:I feel my love of sequel to stellar blade, one of 2024's biggest games. Uh, what do you want to see? I have not played stellar blade. Um, it was kind of like my not really my cup of tea, but I will say I am trying to expand my palette with stuff, with all three of these actually, with movies, tv and games. I'm trying to experience more things I typically wouldn't find myself gravitating towards. Um, like stellar blade is one of those, but maybe, maybe sometime in the future, maybe we try it out and see, see how I like it. We'll see, because it's the same thing like expedition 33 and I've been fucking loving that um.
Speaker 1:And then, of course, as I always have to point out, it's how I found out about mass effect, which is my favorite game series of all time. Like I don't know, can y'all see that from here? No, I can't. Y'all can't see my shelf. I could turn it a little bit. I can see I have a whole shelf, like my whole top shelf. As y'all can see, that whole top shelf is all mass fiction.
Speaker 1:You got the helmet. I got like the uh steel bookcase from it. I got the art book from three. Uh, I got a what the fuck is it called? Uh, a cash which is just basically like a thing I ordered from the bioware store that just has a bunch of mass effect, memorabilia shit in there. That's how I got the, the helmet and I got like two little works of art over there too. So, yeah, that's how I got into mass effect. So it's not some. It's something that typically works better than it does for worse. So you might have to check. I'll celebrate in the future, all right.
Speaker 1:And then, uh, before we wrap up video games, just a bonus stuff I want to talk about. We ain't gonna spend too long talking about them. Um, butterlands ford boss says a real fan will pay 80 dollars for games with a bit of an update. Um, basically, it's just randy pitchford. Uh, who's? Uh, it's the ceo of gearbox. Yeah, ceo of gearbox, randy pitchford. Uh, somebody hit him up on twitter and was like, please don't make borderlands 80 bucks. And he was like a um, it's not my, it's not by control and b, if you were a real fan you'd pay 80 for it. Uh gave like this whole weird story about like, yeah, there it is, he paid $80 for star flight on the sega genesis. Um, scooping ice cream. You know, gave the old fashion. Uh, back in my day I had to walk up the hill both ways, uh, in a blizzard, with no shoes on to get to school, uh, to, to get to and from school, kind of kind of thing. Uh didn't go over too well, he kind of um.
Speaker 1:I think a video came out, uh, a little bit after we kind of spoke on a little bit more um, but yeah, it's, it's, it's a, it's a wild um thing. Yeah, there it is. He had, um, he had something where he just kind of talked about it on stage. You know, just want to make sure that when people pay for the game, they get the most that they can experience.
Speaker 1:Um, but yeah, I mean, it's a wild thing to say we're on the verge of fucking, uh, uh, what are they calling it? The? Uh, a crisis in the, in the cost of living? Fucking, the stock market is going up and down, shit's getting more. We got the fucking tariffs, so shit's more expensive. Um, you know motherfuckers who ain't paying back student loans and they have they. You know, uh, wages garnished, um, these motherfuckers putting forth a bill that's gonna take people off of uh, medicare, medicaid and food stamps and shit. So, uh, yeah, it's, uh, it's, it's, it's. We're entering a time where leisurely shit is definitely not going to be on the table and people are going to start to make, start making very hard decisions.
Speaker 1:And I think it was a fairly tone-deafed response, um, but as somebody who looks at things on both sides, I will say you know, if somebody wants to get the shit, they're going to get it, you know, no matter what. Like, he mentioned the fact that when he was a kid he bought that game and you know, and you just spend 20 on food for the rest of the week, just living off cup noodles and and tap water and shit. But you know, uh, what is it? The average gamer is 35, so moffat's got like families and shit now and moffat's got other responsibilities to pay for now. So, yeah, it was a another weird thing and just another example of how another, yet another example of how the uh, the political and economic state of the country right now is definitely going to bleed into things like gaming.
Speaker 1:And the next thing I want to talk about real quick uh, former dragon age writer says claire obscures, expedition to expedition 33 and bonus gate 3 prove what's possible when a game is given time to cook. Truly exceptional games don't just appeal to their audience. David gator says, they expand it. Um, and I just want to point that out, which is like yes, 100. True, y'all know I'm fairly dragon age bias.
Speaker 1:I understand dragon age velgar was not the greatest game. It had its issues, it had its problems. Uh, did I feel like it deserved the, the repetition it got? No, I still feel like it's a fairly solid game, um, so yeah, so I I kind of agree with this. Like, yeah, you see, what happens when you, when you don't have to, when you're fucking bored, doesn't force you to force you to make deadlines and push out a game that's a little undercooked or, even worse, force you to have to change the direction of your fucking game three times, two, three times over the course of the game and still have you set to that fucking original deadline. So, uh, yeah, that was that was about it.
Speaker 1:Um, and not everyone took the same movie man, okay, the sales for what I got through were amazing, kind of made a lot. Yeah, like baldur's gate was in development for a long ass fucking time. Yeah, it had an early access thing where he was still paid for to play early but still. And expedition 33 um, if I remember correctly, it's made about a bunch of ubisoft, former ubisoft developers and y'all know ubisoft been going through a hard time as of wait. The last two years have been real bad for ubisoft, um, but they left and now they did their own thing and it's one of the best fucking games to drop this year, probably gonna go down as one of the best games in that turn-based rpg genre of all time. So there you go, all right, hold on y'all my phone ringing real quick. Hold on, all right, we back. Uh, I don't remember what the fuck I was talking about, but yeah, basically just another.
Speaker 1:Another example of like you know, if these damn suits just allow their developers time to get shit done and not even time but also just allow them to kind of do what they want to do, give them the freedom to actually give, give them the freedom to cook, you know, just let them do what they want to do, what they feel passionate about doing, and giving them the the time necessary. And I understand, you got, you got budgets, you got. But everything ain't gotta be a bottom line. If the game is made with love and passion and the people who make it love to do it and you give them time to actually make it good, the sales are going to come, like expedition 33 was. It was such a a small thing.
Speaker 1:I had this on like my most anticipated list because it was a fairly because it was an unknown title from a fairly unknown studio. And now look at it. Now it's one of the best games to come out, because they actually gave it time and they actually put a hell of. They're super, fucking creative. So just give them time, let them work. Give them the time, give them the dude to do it Fucking. I know there are only a few people who can actually do that. Do it fucking. I know there are only a few thing people who can actually do that. I think, like rockstar, rockstar can decide whenever the fuck they, when they're, whenever the fuck they're ready for their game to be done, is when their game's going to be done and take two ain't gonna do shit about it because they already know that shit is gonna make money, so so they're just like all right, cool, whatever. But and I know it is different because it's take two and they and they have that they can make money with. You know we just talked about Borderlands 4. They got NBA 2K, so yeah, but that's just something I wanted to mention real quick because it was the Dragon Age stuff. So there you go. But yeah, that's it for video games. So now, of course, we get to our television portion.
Speaker 1:Sterling K Brown's Washington Black limited series gets premiere date at hulu. Uh, hulu has set a july premiere for washington black, sternly k brown fronted adaption of ec of uh double e's novel. The series, which received a straight to series order, will launch all eight episodes on wednesday, july 23rd, on hulu in the us and disney plus internationally. Okay, so this is this is. This is shot already, it's already done, but I just had it from here. Okay, cool, uh, based on the best-selling novel of the same name, washington black follows the 19th century odyssey of george washington wash black, an 11-year-old boy born on a Barbados sugar plantation whose progeny's scientific mind sets him on a path of unexpected destiny. When a harming incident forces Wash to flee, he is dressed to a globe-spanning adventure that challenges and reshapes his understanding of family, freedom and love. As he navigates uncharted lands and impossible odds, wash finds the courage to imagine a future beyond the confines of society he was born into. Okay, okay.
Speaker 1:Stars in the next producer series also starring are Ernest Kingsley, oh Brown. Stars in his agent produce Also attached are Ernest Kingsley Jr, rupert Graves, ilona Evans, edgar Blumel, sharon Duncan Brewster, eddie Carrangia and Tom Ellis. I don't know any of these people. I don't know Tom Ellis. I think they're the nigga from the Blacklist, because I think his name was Tom Alright. So a new Stumlin' K Brown series Sounds pretty interesting. We'll see. We'll be on the lookout for the first trailer. It should be coming out pretty soon. If all eight episodes launch in July, I should have a trailer pretty soon.
Speaker 1:I'm actually looking, let me see. Can't spell Bitch. Can't spell Bitch, okay, no, no, okay, no, no, no nothing. Wait, that was six years ago, never mind, never mind, let's try that for the book. Okay, I might watch some of these videos just so I can get a good idea of what the book is like, because I'm just looking at this. Even just looking at the cover kind of makes you think like, okay, oh, are we? Is it like some, uh, is it like some, um, lovecraft, county shit which, like it's, it's very uh, creative and imaginative, like, like damn near fiction as opposed to more of like a, like a, like a dramatization kind of thing. So I have to look into and see what, see what it's like. But they also to black coming to hulu in july, all right.
Speaker 1:Next up, yellow jackets buzzes to season four. Renewal. Paramount, with showtime series, uh, ended a bit cliffhanger with his third season finale. Uh, my favorite show on tv, despite despite not having watched it since the end of season one, but it's still my favorite show on tv. I, I know I had to catch up, but my favorite favorite show on TV Renewed the hit survival series created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson following a season three finale that was full of revelations and quartered a still buzzing audience.
Speaker 1:But as the dates are set to be announced soon, the season three ending, which aired on April 11th, aired two days later on Showtime became Paramount's most watched season finale, with three million cross-platform viewers worldwide in its first seven days. I'm cross-platform viewers worldwide in its first seven days. I'm glad that this show is is really catching on with a with a massive audience. Uh, I felt like when season one came out it could be kind of niche and, as always with the show, I'll fall out watching. I'm always worried that eventually it's gonna get canceled at some part at some part at some point.
Speaker 1:Yellow jackets has become a cultural juggernaut, with season three shattering all previous records, says chris mccarthy, co-ceo of paramount global and president of showtime mtv. Ashley and bart have massively crafted an utter singular genre, defined phenomenon, a perfect uh alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming of age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Watch your life by your, by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast. So yeah, season four. So I gotta catch up. I was supposed to catch up before season three aired, so now I gotta catch up before, uh, season four gets started. So that's what I gotta.
Speaker 1:That's what I gotta do, uh. But yeah, I fucking love this show, uh, despite the fact I ain't seen none since season one, but I fucking love it. It was. It was very enjoyable and I'm excited to see what the future holds for all. Right.
Speaker 1:Next up, we've got some brand new news to them by netflix. Now, in my last episode, in the last uh news drop we did, I believe I put like um. That um to them was like just like a thing, apparently it's. Apparently I had the whole thing wrong. That's the. Just to kind of make it simple, I fucked up on the whole thing of what uh to them was. To them is there like a live streaming event, uh, where netflix shows up all their shit. That trailer was. Well, that was a trailer for the event. It wasn't like the sizzle reel thing. They do have like a little sizzle reel, but I think they do that at the start of the year when they kind of showcase everything coming for the year. But basically I fucked up the whole thing on there. So two of them is happening on, I believe it was May 31st. It's happening the live stream where they're going to showcase a lot of the stuff they're doing, doing for the future. So screw that up. But continuing on with that, we got, uh, netflix has announced that avatar the last airbender season two wraps production and announces new cast members, and they also announced that a third season that happened to, unless they did that one already. I think they did that one already because we knew that right, yeah, so they're gonna be doing a season from all all the books, all right, uh, the war against fire nation is far from over, back in march 2024, and if it's enough that, yeah, okay, yeah, so thank you. Uh, airbender had been renewed for seasons two and three, which will conclude with its epic story. Production has wrapped on season two and started on season three, with more crew members announced.
Speaker 1:We're looking forward to rick with our excellent how does it look for y'all, because this is one of them sites where the text is pretty damn small, zoom in a bit. We're looking forward to work with all of our actors again and digging into the deeper, more complicated relationships that develop as their journey continues. In season 2, executive producers Christine Boylan and Jabbar Rasani told to them in February. We're going to show the real world versions of iconic scenes from the original and explore some of the stories that the animation didn't. Mainly, we're looking forward to seeing all our games together again.
Speaker 1:So these are the casting updates for the next season of Avatar. I'm sorry if I butcher all these people's names. Updates for the brand the next season of Avatar. I'm sorry if I butcher all these people's names, but we have Madison Hu as Faye. Faye is Okay.
Speaker 1:The porn thing is trying to remember who these characters are. Faye is, isn't Faye one of the chicks who rose with Azula? I don't know, you know what, fuck it. We're finna cheat. Isn't Faye one of the? Uh, one of the chicks who rose with? Uh, azula? I don't know, you know what fuck it. We finna cheat. Let's see.
Speaker 1:Uh, is this a new character? Oh, the chick who rides the little mole thing, the hunter, is that her? I guess that makes sense. Is that fake? Where the wiki's at cuh? Is this a new character? Did I spell the name right so I can find like concrete things on things on the character? This is the only picture I've seen, but even now I'm not completely sure. Okay, that might be a whole different character. Okay, that might be a whole different character.
Speaker 1:Uh, d chin latchman as yang chin. I remember her from, uh from arrow. Dali de leon as lo and lee. That's lo and lee. I feel like I should know that. Uh, lily gal as ursa. Terry chin as jong jong I do know Jong Jong. That sounds familiar.
Speaker 1:Any one of the Fire Nation guys, jon Jon Bironis as Pian Dao? That name sounds familiar too. Pian Dao is he the sword guy? And Tantu Cardinal as Hama. Pian Dao was the? Uh, the sword master who teaches, uh, who teaches, uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, see, this is that's what I'm like. How come it wasn't like this with Faye? That's. This is kind of how I was spent in the google search to go yeah, that's, yeah, that's the sword master who teaches soccer, uh, in season three, and the fire nation stuff.
Speaker 1:Okay, okay, okay, okay, put some faces to sing yang chin. Okay, this is another avatar. Another airbender avatar was the air nomad succeeding avatar set to and proceeding correct. She grew up in a rather isolationist home with the four nations. Okay, so she's a. She's a previous uh, airbending avatar. Interesting. Interesting because I don't, because they didn't, because the show never really the show never really went into a previous airbending avatar.
Speaker 1:He mostly only talked to like, only like, roku, and kiyoshi really got a lot of attention in the original series. Okay, that's interesting, okay, okay, I see, I, you, okay. Who's low and lee? Oh, the two. Only, I remember that. The two old ladies, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember them, I remember them, yeah, yeah, yeah, who work underneath uh, uh, uh, azula and shit. Okay, I remember that. Okay, I can see it. The Fae thing is gonna bother me because I'm getting good results from everybody else now, it's just, that was the only one I didn't. Okay, now, who's Ursa? I gotta have a fucking watch.
Speaker 1:Last airbender so long. Oh, ursa is uh, uh, zuko and Azula's mom, the Fire Lord's wife. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Zhang Zhang that name sounds so fucking familiar. Zhang Zhang, known as the Deserter. So, oh, this is the guy who, um, who was going to be Aang's first firebender teacher until he burned Katara and he didn't want to do it anymore. Okay, okay, okay. And then Pian Dao and Hama. Hama, ain't that, like, ain't that like? Zaka and his grandmother, or something? No, is that their mom? Oh, no, this is the. Oh, this is the. This is the. Uh, this is the bloodbender lady who teaches, uh, who teaches katara bloodbending. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1:So the only person that didn't get anything concrete from is fey. Anything concrete from is fey. We saw the one picture of the, of that chick. Who's the um the chick? Who's the bounty hunter? And she rides on the damn um the giant. What is it? A mole or something, I don't know. So this is the.
Speaker 1:This is the character I'm the most interested in. Who the hell this is? Now, I haven't seen mole or something I don't know. So this is the. This is the character I'm the most interested in. Who the hell this is? Now. I haven't seen Avatar in so fucking long. I don't remember anybody.
Speaker 1:But yeah, this is the upcoming cast. Uh for Avatar, season two and three. So it seems like they're definitely touching on lots the more stuff from the, the show for each of the books. You know. Um, I already forgot who Yang chin. All right, I forgot who yang chin was already that quick. Uh, this is the mom. So we're going to get more backstory for the.
Speaker 1:Uh for zuko. Of course, it's part of his character arc once he joins team avatar. Uh lo and lee, which of course plays a small role, with uh azula and her arc and her ascension to eventually being fire lord. Uh, john, john, I don't know, did they cover that? If he's cast in a season two I'm guessing they didn't cover that in season one um, him being ang's first firebender teacher, but he's probably just gonna be. He probably gonna be in there and probably just play more of a bigger role than the White Lotus team. And then PA and Al Sokka's gonna get his little training arc there where he becomes a sword master. And I can't lie, this is probably the one I'm most excited about, because that was one of the dopest boys in the show.
Speaker 1:The old lady who's the bloodbender? I forgot already. I forgot already who's the bloodbender I got. I forgot already who's yeah, I forgot already. Who's yang chin oh, a previous, uh, uh airbending avatar, and it seems like the two of their characters might play more of a role in something they're in something more original to the live action series, because I can't find anything on her. I the theory that it might be old girl, the little bounty hunter that um zuko and iroh hired, and she, yeah, she rides around on that mole because it uses its sense of smell to find stuff, and then a previous airbending avatar. So that's so. It seemed like these two might be involved with some more uh, original storylines for the show. But yeah, there you have it.
Speaker 1:Avatar seasons two and three. Two is wrapped, three is coming, so let's see New cast members. Round out season oh, and this is more people. I ain't finna Google search anybody here. We got more characters coming to season three as well, or were these announced? No, no, no, they're all new. Uh, let's see, we've got chin han.
Speaker 1:He's in a lot of stuff, long fanged, I feel like that name is familiar to you. Justin as king, is he the? Uh? Is that the earthbender King? I never remember who has the bear, the pet bear, I mean, is that Judy? Judy is the? There is no war in Ba Sing Se Because you.
Speaker 1:As Lady Beifong, that's Toph's mom. Kelamide Misapika as the Boulder they should get Mick Foley to come in and just do voiceovers for him. Hoa Zandi as Professor Z he's the guy who walks around. They're the two, because the two of them went searching for Toph, right, so he's the other guy who's like teaching her uh. Lourdes Fabris as General Sung I don't know who that is. And Ereka Shamarda as Amita I don't know who that is either. Okay, okay, they were previously announced. Season two members. Okay, as the boulder. So they do have. Uh, mia chetch's cast is tough. Here's my picture. Uh, also announced are two cast members who will be joining season three john, john brionis, I think we just read, yeah, we just read all that, so that's cool.
Speaker 1:So I I haven't watched the live bashing. Uh, airbender, um, I've heard mixed things about it. That it's you know, all right, but fortunately nothing really that special about it. I do know they cut that. I do know they axed out the sexist soccer thing, which I was like that's kind of lame. Like I feel like it's a very important thing for his character. But also you keep it in there because he, uh, he actually changes. Like if he didn't change, I don't that'd be, that'd be one thing, that'd be a little bit more understandable, but he actually does. So I don't know why you would take that out, but yeah, but yeah.
Speaker 1:So season two is all wrapped, so we might be seeing that maybe late, early next year, and season three is about to start pre-production. So, live action avatar more is coming, um, but as for things nobody asked for, clash of clans animated series has been ordered at netflix. A clash of clans animated series has been greenlit and netflix variety has learned. The untitled series is set to follow a determined but in over his head barbarian who must rally a band of misfits to defend their village and navigate the comically absurd politics of war, shows that to be set in the world of super sales, clash of clans and clash royale, pre-production down anyway. We didn't even list, I didn't even think of it.
Speaker 1:Speaking of video game, video game adaptions that are in development, we got this one too. Now I want to merely say that this shit has come late as hell, super late. I don't think anybody's really fucking clash of clans, but I was wrong about the minecraft movie. So, for all I know, clash of clans is still mad. It's a mobile game too, and I don't fucking pay attention to mobile games. So who knows? Uh, fletcher mullis service showrunner ron wiener, serving as head writer. He wrote for rest of development and futurama. So we know it'll be very, uh, uh, very comedy heavy. Uh, a lot of commentary, a lot of social commentary. Uh, parody, a lot of parody. Uh, most previously worked with supercell on classic clans, animated videos for youtube which have amassed hundreds of millions of views.
Speaker 1:Icon Studios will be animation on Netflix, I think Icon also did. They did the one show on whatchamacallit right On Amazon, didn't they? What the hell am I thinking of? The little anthology series show that was on amazon? Okay, I think that was them. I can't remember what the show was called for some reason, uh, yeah, so everything else in 2012. Inash Royale in 2016. This game is fucking dinner. Ten years old, system. The two games remain wildly popular. Okay, down over four billion times with 180 billion hours of gameplay.
Speaker 1:This is the latest animated series order for Netflix in the past few weeks. You see, the streamer announced the adult animated comedy. So we talked about that on the last pod. So, yeah, young Jedi Adventure. Okay, they did not, because I could already see this animation style. It's more of a 3D CG style. They did do Monsters at Work, bat Wheels, prep and Landing, rocket Club, transformers, earthspark, firebird. They do a lot of kid friendly stuff. What the fuck is this Owen Wilson as Charlie the Wonder Dog? What the fuck is this Owen Wilson as Charlie the Wonder Dog? What the fuck? Okay, yeah, they do a shit ton of work. They do a shit ton of like children's work, children's animation, 3d, cg, computer generated stuff. So they didn't do that show on Amazon. So, yeah, we'll have to wait and see. See how it goes, see how it goes. Another interesting combination, but it seems like this one might be more mature, but I don't know because of the writer, but we'll have to wait and see.
Speaker 1:Alright, and finally, talking about avatar, you know, wrapping up when it should be, perfect, amount of seasons it needed. Um, there's no way to complete this narration in a third season, the last of us show when it reveals how long he thinks the series will run. So, basically, they've now announced that there is going to be a Last of Us season 4. Four seasons of this show based on a video game that only has two entries, and the season that's currently airing, season 2, is based off the second game. Yeah, so that's just them talking about the show.
Speaker 1:During a one-on-one interview with Collider, showrunner Craig Mazin discussed the reaction to Joel's death, the magic that Pescat brought to the road some of the seasons to change. Okay, this is just. This is just the interview, but yeah, but that basically announced season four, the last of us, season 30. But, yeah, they announced a season four. There's going to be a season four Because Craig Massey thinks that there's no way that they can do this in three seasons. Okay, so it seems like it hasn't been officially confirmed that there'll be a fourth season, but it seems like he's heavily hinting that this is going to have a fourth season.
Speaker 1:I don't know how. I don't even know how the hell they're going to squeeze uh, the the narrative of two across, uh, across two seasons. I have an idea, because the Last of Us 2 takes place telling the story of Abby getting revenge on Joel, but then her living with that afterwards and her going on this whole thing after. And it tells the story of Ellie going to revenge, uh against her for the, for the joel stuff. So I could see that if, like, season two focuses more on ellie's side and then in season three we get abby's side. I haven't watched season two yet, so I don't know how they're telling the story.
Speaker 1:Uh, I know there are a lot of flashbacks in the in the game as well. I don't know if they incorporate. I think they do it because I think I've seen the promo for one episode for season two was a. Was that whole episode? Was an episode based on that whole flashback where joel takes ellie to the museum or something? So it does seem like they're doing flashback stuff too. Um, but there is a time. There is a time jump at the near the very end of two, so I could see, I could see them doing. Um, if it hasn't already, I could see them doing. Season two ends.
Speaker 1:Y'all remember the scene in the in and if y'all played the game spoiler alert if you didn't, or spoiler alert if you just watched the show, because I might be spoiling shit. That happened already. But y'all know how in the game, when uh, abby finally catches up to uh, to ellie, and they fight in the and they fight in the movie theater and abby's about to offer, but, um, her, her, uh, her, her friend stops her, her little partner stops her and she walks away and leaves them be. Uh, I could see them ending season two like that. And then season three is the little time jump that happens after that, where, um, ellie and what, the what's her girl's name, I can't remember all girls name her girlfriend are are raising the little, the little boy on a little abandoned farm. Um, but she, but she can't, she can't get the idea of revenge out of her mind, especially when tommy comes back and he's found her. And then we see that uh, abby and and her little partner are like arizona or something and they get captured and despite dina that's her name despite dina telling her to know, uh, ellie still goes and searches for abby and she gets captured too by those, uh, those slavers in arizona. And then they have a little fight on the beach when they both, like you know, abby's all emaciated and shit and Ellie has that near fatal wound and they fight there. I could see them having that whole time and that whole section there being season three.
Speaker 1:So I don't know what the fuck season four could be if they have to do a season four and again, that's that's not even say if they don't include that part in season two, because it's still. It's possible that they could. But that's my theory on it. So I have to see. But yeah, not at all, it's not at all. It's making the absolute shit out of the Last of Us. Isn't it funny how quickly perception can change, especially when you oversaturate your market?
Speaker 1:I think we can all agree that first, last of us game is a bona fide fucking classic. It's an all-time great game, it really is. But then they had to do a two, and two wasn't really up to snuff. It might have kind of ruined the legacy of the whole thing. Then they have remasters coming out the ass the last of us, part 1. Last of us, part 1 remaster for the PS4. Last of us remaster for the PS5. Last of us 2. Last of us 2 remaster. The shit was just one console generation ago. That's just a little fucking ultimate bundle with both games in one. It's crazy. Now we got the show shit to go. That's just a little fucking ultimate bundle with both games in one. It's crazy.
Speaker 1:Now we got the show Last of Us, season 1. Last of Us, season 2, 3, 4. Last of Us, last of Us, the Game. Last of Us, the Game, the show. Last of Us, the Show, the game. The Last of Us Video Game Based upon the critically acclaimed series. The Last of Us, the game, the show. Last of Us, the show, the game.
Speaker 1:The Last of Us video game based upon the critically acclaimed series the Last of Us, based upon the critically acclaimed video game the Last of Us comes. The Last of Us, the series, the video game. Oh, that'd be fucked up. And you know, if we get a Last of Us 3, we're gonna see about another four remasters because they gotta make massive. I can't say that's fake. They're gonna make last of us part three for the fucking playstation 6, and then they're gonna make last of us uh, last of us, ultimate edition remaster for the ps6. Then what's the? We get to the end cycle of the ps6, then they gonna have the last of us, the completed ultimate edition, with last of us one and two remastered with a brand new last of us part three remastered as featured in the last of us.
