Speaker 1:

Welcome, or welcome back to D-Visit Entertainment, the one place dedicated to the big three of visual media, of course film, video games and television. I'm your host, as always, hoover, and here we have our first video, actually our first video of year five of GeekVisions Entertainment. This might be like what? Year two on YouTube, but year five overall, our first recording of 2025. Yeah, so that's pretty cool. Thank you all so much for joining in, either if you've come from the audio realm to the Jump Hero YouTube or if you just jumped in from when we started here on YouTube. Thank you so much. I very much do appreciate it. It is an honor. I'm telling you, all right, so, yeah, so, as we closed out the year, we we of course looked back on our best, worst and most disappointing of 2024, uh, when we closed out the year, uh, but now I figure it's time for us to look forward to the upcoming year for our big three, and that's what we have here for our most anticipated uh of 2025. But now I will say I was kind of conflicted on the title of the video because I'm not wanting to get excited before I really see things. I need to see things more before I kind of get excited or I really start looking forward to something. So this list isn't going to be that lengthy for now. Like I said, I actually need to start seeing more stuff, especially in terms of games and TV. Any of some movies could kind of come out of nowhere and surprise me, and because of that I'm mostly side on two points. So we're going to have things that I'm either interested in so if I'm interested in it, I need to see more, but it is on my radar, I'm aware of it, I just kind of need to see more, but it is something I am interested in it and then we have excited, which is I'm pretty much already bought in. It's like it's something from a franchise or or you know, or something that's been going on that I'm already interested in. You know another season of a show already, like a sequel or something to a movie or a game that I also like as well. So that's kind of what we'll have our things separated into. Interested and excited are going to be our two new things. But either way, everything I'm talking about here is at least on my radar for 2025.

Speaker 1:

Now I will say with 2025, I didn't mention this in the best, worst and most disappointing list. But, yeah, I didn't watch or play a bunch of stuff in 2024 that actually came out in that same year. So I was kind of conflicted on even if I wanted to release that video, because a lot of it wasn't like was it my thoughts and my opinions on those things? It was just I was kind of just, you know, throwing out the general consensus on what they were. So, yeah, 2025, I do want to, I want, I need to consume more stuff. So that's kind of my big goal for this upcoming year. And this list is actually going to help me, because this list is going to be the things that I know I should be on the lookout for and when they release, I'll watch them or I'll play them.

Speaker 1:

Of course, games are a little bit more difficult. They take a lot more time than watching a series or watching a movie and, of course, the price, the barrier of admission, is also a lot higher as well. But I still, but I'm still gonna try to do it all right. So enough of me yapping let's get into this list. All right, now I'm still. I would say I'm still because this is my second time recording this. I'm still working out this new system. I want to do stuff. I've been trying to flip back and forth between, uh, the video and me here and then my script, because I actually wrote the script for this one as opposed to bullet points, but it's been a little difficult. So I'll tell you what. I'm just gonna pop my damn screen. Actually, let's load up our first video, for the first thing we're gonna talk about first, so I'm just gonna have it playing here. It ain't gonna be on full screen, so, uh, bear with me on that one, but I'm going to have this on here so we can freaking just play this and it won't be too damn difficult jumping back and forth, but uh, yeah, so the first thing we're going to talk about is Captain America Brave New World. That is coming out on February 14th. Now this gets the excited tag.

Speaker 1:

At first it was just interested, I was just interested in it, but as the trailers came along, that kind of moved it up. I like how it feels, kind of like the Winter Soldier vibes. I get that with that political espionage sort of feel to it and I hope, the editing that they did in the trailers, because the editing in the trailers, the editing in the trailers has been phenomenal. So I hope they keep that up, but I also hope that they keep the editing of the trailers up and also that feel, because the editing of the trailers has been great. So, speaking of things that being brought over, I also hope that we get a little bit more of that touch of that, of that of the racial and the political implications that come with having a black man as Captain America. They had this in the Falcon in the winter soldier show, um, and that was one of the best parts of the series, uh, and with Isaiah Bradley in it, I hope that we do get more of that. And it is crossing over. Uh, that made us to keep the plot and like who the actual villain is, uh, secret so far, um, but I'm very much looking forward to it. So, brave new world. I'm very much looking forward to it. So Brave New World is one of our first excited tags we have for 2025.

Speaker 1:

I will be going to see this, so we'll be talking about it when it comes out. All right. So, staying on the superhero, especially the Marvel stuff I can't spell let's talk about the Thunderbolts. This one here gets the. It's coming on May 2nd. I'm interested in this.

Speaker 1:

This one seems to be a bit more of a character drama than I thought it would be, but I'm still a little. I'm still a little down on it a little bit to say it's going to be bad, but I still need to see a little down on it a little bit. I can't say it's going to be bad, but I still need to see a little bit more. So I'm still on the low end of interested. I got to see a little bit more. I got to do a little bit more to hook me into it. I will say, though, I'm very sad that Steven Yeun had to drop out of it. He was originally cast to play Bob the Sentry in this movie, but he had to drop out because I think things got pushed back or something, so he's no longer in it. So, yeah, I'm a little sad about that. So there's that.

Speaker 1:

Something I am excited for, though, and that is Fantastic Four, first Steps. This is coming on July 25th. I've been looking forward to this since Marvel got the rights to the Fantastic Four. Now, I'm not that familiar with Iban Mas-Bakarach and Vanessa Kirby too much Haven't seen them in, too much Haven't watched the shows that they're kind of infamous for I know Iban is from the Bear. I forget what show Vanessa Kirby is on, but Joseph Quinn and Pedro Pascal more than make up for that. I'm familiar with their stuff. Add to that Matt Shackman is the director who and he's behind, in my opinion still the best Disney Plus series to come out so far for Marvel, and that's wandavision. So so I'm all in and I like what they've been talking about, what they've been showing off, sort of that retro 60s, retro futuristic feel. We've got to it. I'm very much looking forward to this.

Speaker 1:

Um, all right, and as we leave off our final on the superhero spectrum, at least in terms of movies, we've got James Gunn and WBDC's upcoming Superman. I'm excited about this. Well, I don't know, I'm not excited, I'm interested. That's what I meant to say. This entry is going to be the first in the brand new rebooted DC Studios Cinematic Universe directed and written by James Gunn. I'm a fan of James Gunn. Guardians 1 and Guardians 3 are like excuse me, guardians 1 and 3 are like my favorite superhero movies and Marvel movies, so they're really up there for me in terms of the superhero spectrum. So I do have I do have some faith in James Gunn that he can get it, that he can get it done, and I really hope this is good and I really hope that DC can finally finally get their shit together and I mean it's the perfect time, with the MCU being on a bit of a downswing right now. They've been trying to recover from their downswing post-endgame. It hasn't really worked out too well. They're still trying to do it. They've been on a nice little run as of late. Agatha, all along was pretty damn good. Deadpool and Wolverine was phenomenal. So yeah, I, if there's a really good time for DC to swoop in and sort of come in and really put their feet down, I think this is it. So hopefully it's really good. So yeah, I'm interested. Superman Alright, okay.

Speaker 1:

Next we have Love Hurts. That's coming on January 2nd. This stars Ki-Hoo Kwon. Y'all may remember him from what the heck was it called? Why am I fixing on names? It was a great movie, everything everywhere all at once and of course, like the Goonies, you know, and Indiana Jones. But this seems like one of those popcorn action movies that you can just kind of go in and enjoy, turn your brain off and just enjoy it. And this does take place in Milwaukee, so it's a plus for me. I don't know if it just takes place in there or if they film here Probably not, because our fucking tax is way too high. So that's a plus for me. So, yeah, I'm interested in that.

Speaker 1:

Up next, we've got Mickey 17. I keep doing this. I'm supposed to just keep it up here. Stand up here from now on, I ain't gonna mess with it. We got Mickey 17.

Speaker 1:

This comes from the director who did Parasite, with Robert Pattinson in the starring role. This looks really cool. It reminds me of that movie, moon, but it's more comedic than I thought it would be, which is funny, because that's exactly what I thought when I saw Parasite. I thought Parasite was going to be. It was a very heavy drama, but there was a lot of comedy in there too that I was kind of surprised about. So, yeah, I'm interested in this. So it's going to be on our radar. It's going to be one of those movies that might surprise me in the end.

Speaker 1:

And then after that we have, 28 years later, this is something we've been following on the channel for quite some time actually. Oh, script back up. So we've been following this on the podcast for quite a while. Actually, we were there when it first got, when it was rumored that they might be returning. We were there when it got announced that it was actually happening, when they were bringing back the original writer and director, when they started having their cast update. So we've been following this pretty closely for quite a while now. So I think actually seeing the movie is going to be a big payoff, payoff, payout, payoff for the channel.

Speaker 1:

This is coming on June 20th. I am interested in this as well. The trailer looks really dope. I've never seen the other two, but I want to see those before this one drops. So that's on my radar too. To see the first two movies and also the cast on this is just A1. You got Jodie Comer, aaron Taylor Johnson and Ralph Fittis, along with the original team, like I mentioned, the writer and the director man. I'm back up on that.

Speaker 1:

And to wrap up our film portion, we have this is a funny one. Actually, this is a really weird one and a really funny one. We have the untitled movie. It's currently untitled. Just get ready for this one. We have the untitled movie coming from Trey Parker and Kendrick Lamar. This film was slated to release on July 4th. You heard that right? Trey Parker, one of the co-creators of South Park and rapper, kendrick Lamar. Now I'm interested in this.

Speaker 1:

We covered this way way back on the podcast, previous news dropped way way back, and even then it was only like they were in talks and it was like, oh yeah, kendrick Lamar kind of wants to do a movie and he's tapping Matt Stone and Trey Parker to do it, and it was really weird. I didn't even know when things became official for this. That's how under the radar and under the wraps this thing has kind of been. But I did see that they were and I heard rumors that they were shooting. They shot this back in October and which is kind of crazy, but it does make sense because I do believe that was right around the time when the man was also back in his hometown to shoot his video. It was around that time when he was shooting his music videos.

Speaker 1:

For I believe Not Like Us, and of course I'm not going to go too deep into it but of course 2024 was an MVP year for Kendrick Lamar. I'm talking MVP championship year. If you don't know, I don't know to tell you, but if you know, you know. So, yeah, I'm interested to see how this film plays a role in that run as it's continuing on. Honestly, he also has a Super Bowl next month too, and what it's about. We haven't seen a lot of Kendrick being comedic, which I hope we get heavily in this movie. I'm looking forward to that.

Speaker 1:

One of my favorite things about rappers I'm a big hip-hop fan, so one of my favorite things about hip-hop artists and rappers is when they aren't afraid to be a little bit more goofy and comedic. I love guys like Eminem. There's one who can do it, kid Cudi can do it as well. Even Ludacris A lot of old school, damn. I just felt like I aged myself there. Old school, it's like 20 years ago. I guess that is old school. But yeah, it's like some of Ludacris' music videos. I love how he can be a little bit more comedic and a bit more lighthearted, especially now. I feel like everybody wants to be hard now. That's a good tangent. We go golf on, all right, but that is it for movies.

Speaker 1:

Now we move on to video games, the first one that I'm excited for. It's a very easy one. I'm also just looking at this and realizing this shit dropped a year ago. That's crazy. And we still don't have a release date yet GTA 6. I mean, do I have to say a lot? Do I have to say much about this? Again, it's obvious. What more do I got to say a lot? Do I have to say much about this? Again, it's obvious. What more do I got to say I'm excited. I'm not even a big GTA guy, if y'all know. If y'all been following this channel for a little bit, y'all already know I've been a Saints Row guy through and through. Gta 5 was actually the first Grand Theft Auto I actually played, like, played and experienced from beginning to end the story and all the immersive world and the side missions. Gta V was the first one I ever experienced that with, and that's even even that one was like good, it was phenomenal, like I feel like a lot of people might have felt about it as well, but I enjoyed it. So I'm excited to see if this one is a substantial jump from 5, especially considering the fact that 5 is still popular right now. It's still popping off GTA 6, there you go. That's an obvious one. All right, of course, that one doesn't even have a release date this year. There's rumors that it might not even drop this year too. Just to safety proof, it not even drop this year too, but just to safety proof it, we'll put it here GTA 6. Okay, now one of the first big ones of the year that I've actually my narrative has kind of changed on this. It's one of the first big ones we've got of this year and that is Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Speaker 1:

If y'all know, or if y'all don't know, I am not a big ubisoft dude. Uh, I didn't even think I'd be interested in this game. Uh, I haven't played assassin's creed since, like assassin's creed 3 um. I did play origins um a while ago, but I got on a sale. So I haven't got down on Assassin's Creed in years.

Speaker 1:

But I am interested in this one. Admittedly, though, I'm interested in it for a lot of things outside the scope of the game, which doesn't sound good. But just follow me here. First of all, of course the Goldbrookies upset that one of the characters is a black man. Of course she got that one Probably also upset that the other character is a woman, because that's how they roll, all of the issues Ubisoft is having right now. I'm going to be honest. They need a win. They really really do need a win. They really really do need a win. If this game is good. I'd try it out, mostly because I want the Brokens to be wrong, of course, but I was burned with getting the game for that same reason. I got Far Cry 5 for that exact same reason.

Speaker 1:

On a small of a scale, there wasn't as much outcry with Far Cry 5 than there was for this one. I think most people were just upset that it took place, which was funny that it took place in America. So you were fighting Americans. If y'all know, all the other Far Cry games have you going off to some other country and the events happen there, so you're fighting the population of that country. So once it came to America, people were like oh, I gotta fight Americans. I feel kind of weird about that. Oh, a Christian cult in Montana, I feel kind of weird about that. But the game was trash to me. I didn't like it. So again, this could work out the exact same way, all right. So actually I am going to make it invisible right here, because this one's kind of a quick hit portion here. So we'll pull it up if there's some, if there's some I actually want to show off.

Speaker 1:

But uh, next is a bunch of games that I am excited for, uh, and are new or at least are slate. Uh, they're at least slated for this year, but not an actual date. Um, we got a vow coming on february 18th. That's by obscene entertainment. It's a new, uh, fantasy rpg. I'm interested in that one. Uh, split fiction. That one Split Fiction. That one just got announced at the Game Awards. That's supposed to be coming on March 6th. That's Hazelight Studios. So I got a lot of faith in this one. I played Brothers before they really blew up with no Way Out and it Takes Two. I like that one. I played some of A Way Out. I never finished it, unfortunately, never played it Takes Two either. I think that's their most recent one, right, yeah, but Hazelight, they have a lot of good faith in the gaming community, so I don't doubt that this one won't be good as well.

Speaker 1:

Wonderstop is coming on March 11th. I mentioned I was interested in this one back at the Summer Games Fest. The fable, no date, no gameplay, but it has the brand recognition, so interested in that as well. I gotta see a lot more of it, though. Alright, now, the same thing, but for things that I actually am excited for. So these are things that I got a little bit more faith in for this one, that's Outer Worlds 2. I'll show a little bit from that one. Actually, we'll show a little bit from that one. We'll show a little bit of the next one. Uh, but yeah, uh, uh. Yeah, outer Worlds 2, y'all know I love the first one and I'm very much looking forward to more. And then, of course, after that we've got Ghost of Yotei, the sequel, spiritual successor, I don't know how you call it, I guess it's a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Yeah, love that game. And sucker punch does great work. Uh, they ain't got a miss yet. So very much looking forward to that one.

Speaker 1:

Um, death stranding two. I know the first one wasn't for everybody. Um, I enjoyed it though I I liked it. Uh, yes, I admit you gotta push through it. You gotta push a lot of the not exciting stuff to get to the good stuff, but I did and I felt really rewarded. So there you go. I like Death Stranding. So I'm excited for Death Stranding 2 and apparently it's going more like action heavy anyway. So that might change a lot of people's thoughts. What else we got South of Midnight? That's a brand new game with an interesting heavy anyway. So that might change a lot of people's thoughts. What else do we got South of Midnight? That's a brand new game with an interesting art style, deep Roots in Louisiana and Southern Lore and Folktales, so I'm excited for that one.

Speaker 1:

Judas Not a lot for this one, and no date either, but this is like the. We'll pull that one up too. This is like the spiritual successor to Judas and my mind, this is like the spiritual successor to Bioshock. It's a game studio, but it is led by Kevin Levine. I think it's Ken Levine what the hell Shut up. He's leading this one. He was the director of Bioshock. So, yeah, excited for this one.

Speaker 1:

And then, finally, we have Exodus. This was done by a team of Mass Effect developers. We just got our first gameplay reveal. I think they released a brand new video for this as well that we might cover in our first news drop of 2020, of 2025. It's like a. It's a QA thing with, like, the developers, whatever. The Awakened Bear cinematic reveal trailer, whatever, but yeah, I'm excited for this one just from the. The Awakened Bear cinematic reveal trailer, whatever, oh Lord. But yeah, I'm excited for this one, just from the fact that it's the Mass Effect developers. So I'm excited for this one. So, again, no date. Gotta see a little bit more gameplay and things. But I am excited just for the faith that it's Mass Effect developers doing a space game and seem like they're taking their time with it. I'm excited for this one. Alright, that is it for video games.

Speaker 1:

Let's wrap this up with our TV portion. I do think there is a trailer for our first one here Now. Tv is a little weird because I actually have to search. Tv is so hard because it's so broad and so wide that I struggle to find things that it's either new or I've heard of, or trying to find something. So much is just like reality TV, game shows and all that stuff that I don't care about. Uh, but this was something I found that I actually am excited for. Uh, it's a Hulu show. It is called paradise. Um, it's coming on January 28th, so it's coming out pretty soon.

Speaker 1:

This star Sterling and James Marsden. It's a little bit of a political intrigue thriller thing going on, which, if y'all don't know, by talking about Captain America, the Winter Soldier or what's coming up for Brave New World. I'm interested in all that kind of shit, but this looks good. The trailer we're playing right now looks good. I love Sterling K Brown. I love James Marsden. I feel like James Marsden is so underappreciated he really much is. He very much is. I'm looking forward to this Next up.

Speaker 1:

We got an obvious one here. I'll be able to play this one too. This is an obvious one here Daredevil Born Again. If there's anything I think can take, if there's anything I think can take, if there's anything that I believe can take WandaVision's spot as my favorite Disney Plus show, it's probably going to be this one. This is coming on March 4th.

Speaker 1:

Super excited for this one. Having the series officially now crossing over into the MCU proper. Excited for that. The original cast all returning. I remember there was news that we weren't going to get Karen and Foggy in this one, but that changed and now they're being brought back. Of course you got Charlie Cox, vincent D'Onofrio, I believe.

Speaker 1:

I believe Punisher is also coming back in this one too. Why can I not think of his name right now? I believe Punisher is also coming back in this one too. Why can I not think of his name right now? What is his name? I can't remember his name right now. Shane is literally the name that's popping up in my head, but I know his name is not Shane, okay. So yeah, man, I'm excited. I feel like my shit is like my color. My lighting is very low, so, yeah, I'm excited for this man.

Speaker 1:

Um, next up, I got uh, dope Thief that's airing on March 14th. I'm interested in this one, uh, mostly, uh all cause it has Brian Tyree Henry in it. Um, uh, but uh in it, just because he's in it. But it also co-stars the guy who played El Chapo in Narcos I didn't get his name, but it's about two friends who post as DEA agents who steal from a trap house and then, of course, they get involved in some shit. This is one of those things I looked up, but it does sound interesting. Like I said, brian Tyree Henry, big fan of his ever since the Atlanta days, glad to see him blowing up and expanding in everything he's in.

Speaker 1:

We also have this is weird what SNL 50 Beyond Saturday Night. That's coming on January 16th. This is the big 50th anniversary of the live improv sketch show Saturday Night Live. I'm excited. Y'all know I'm an SNL fiend, an SNL whore, if you will. So yeah, I'm looking forward to this. I'm looking forward to seeing the documentary when the actual season airs. All of the past co-stars are all going to come back and make an appearance. I'm excited for it. I love Saturday Night Live. Welcome to Derry. No date, but I am interested.

Speaker 1:

I like both the recent it movies, especially the first one. The first one was phenomenal, so I am interested. I like both the recent it movies, especially the first one. The first one was phenomenal, so I am interested to see how this goes. Keeping on the TV movie spinoff, we got Alien Earth. I'm interested. I haven't seen Alien Romulus yet, but I've heard some pretty good things. I seem like they did alright enough. Plus, I feel, since the Xenomorphs are all mostly practical, there won't be. You know, there's always that worry that there's going to be a massive step down when something that was a movie moves to TV, so there's a massive drop down in budget and effects. But since the Xenomorphs are mostly like, practical, I feel like they'll be fine here and it might work out. And it I feel like they'll be fine here, it might work out and it seems like it'll be pretty cool.

Speaker 1:

All right now of all of these. All of these are in the excited category and are upcoming seasons for shows I already love. We got Yellowjacket, season 3. I don't think there's any kind of trailer for that one? Let's see Do-do-do-do-do. There's a first look. Yeah, yellowjacket, season 3, even though I still haven't seen season 2 yet, I gotta catch up y'all.

Speaker 1:

I follow a lot of shows all the time. I'm still excited for it, though. I'll catch up on season 2,. I follow a lot of shows all the time, still excited for it, though. I'll catch up on season two and then we'll jump into season three. Stranger Things 5, can they continue to bounce back after season four was a phenomenal return to form. So can season five keep that up? We shall see. And then the Last of Us, season two. How will the adaption of the controversial, to say the least, source material turn out? I guess we will find out. But yeah, those are shows that I am excited for. That, uh are continuing on from things already like so there you go.

Speaker 1:

Like I said, it's pretty short. Like I said, I gotta see more of shows. Sometimes things won't be on my radar at all. Then it'll pop up. Baldur's Gate 3 actually is a great example of that. Baldur's Gate 3 was not on my radar at all, I knew nothing about it, but I came across it when I was doing one news drop and I saw one of their little live streams and I fucking loved it and I bought the game when it came out because it was free reviews and I fucking loved it. And I bought the game when it came out because it was free reviews and I fucking love the game. So we'll have to see how the year goes. If things pop up on my radar, you know what's coming out, what isn't. We'll have to wait and see how those things go.

Speaker 1:

But that's my list. Those are things I'm interested in and things I am excited about for 2025. Of course, a year where I'm going to watch more shows, I'm going to see more movies, we're going to try to play more games. So hopefully, by the time we get to our end of the year list for 2025, I can actually talk about things a lot more than I could in 2024. But anywho, that is it for us here all today. Us, it's just me. It's just me. That's it for us here all today. Us, it's just me. It's just me. Use. Uh, that's it for me here today. Thank you all so much for watching. I very much appreciate it. Again, thank you all for joining me on this journey. Uh, like I said, this is year five, season five, if you will, of geek vision entertainment. Um, like I said, I made a pretty. Um, I made a, I made it, I made a pretty, I made an investment. I guess you could say that we're going to have to work out and see how it works, but that should hopefully really help me out over here. It'll allow me to do things a lot more easily, especially game recordings. I'll let y'all know when we actually get there. I'll probably post something on the socials to make sure you're following for all of that.

Speaker 1:

Goal for 2025 is I just want to see more stuff so I can actually talk about a lot of stuff more. Actually, I already have the first movie I'm going to watch, where we're going to try out our brand new way. I want to start reviewing stuff Less in-depth reviews and more of just brief impressions, I guess you could say Especially for video games, because I don't want to wait too long to do video games. I think the first thing we might do is we might do Dragon Age, the Veil Guard. I'll talk about how I feel about it, where I am now and then, of course, once we do the finale on the channel, in that episode I'll kind of have my general thoughts on the game as a whole once I actually finish it, but for now it'll just be like an impressions video to kind of describe how I'm feeling at the current moment I'm at. But that's kind of how we'll just do our thing More impressions and less in-depth reviews.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I want to go see the Wolfman. That's currently in theaters Not in theaters, I'm dumb. That's currently slated for sometime pretty soon, I think it's in a couple weeks actually. So yeah, it's a little niche, a little horror movie. But yeah, even movies like this, just kind of smaller movies, I'll check them out for the sake of the content, for the sake of the channel. We'll check them out, we'll watch them. It's a January movie, so I'm not expecting too much. Of course, the movie drops in January.

Speaker 1:

Luckily, this is a very kind of cool period for me. I'm going to take some time to catch up on shows that I didn't watch. Hopefully I can play through a couple games before we get to anything huge on the list. That'll take up a lot of my time, like, maybe, like Assassin's Creed, shadows drops in February. Hopefully I can get through some stuff by February, but we'll see. But anywho, that is it for me here today. Thank you all so much for watching. I very much do appreciate it. Get excited for year five as we keep going here with Geek Visions Entertainment. Make sure you like, comment, subscribe if you're on the YouTube, if you feel so inclined, if you're in the audio realm, leave a review, leave a comment, let your boy know how he's doing.
